So No More Panthers Pie?

Recommended Posts

yeah the repped post stuff isn't very effective.

it's interesting how a network of reputation-building can actually lend a personalized feel to a very impersonal web-based discussion. there are senses of friendship and camaraderie that actually build on the admittedly silly concept of "just a bunch of green internet dots." rep and pie add a greater sense of belonging in a community so that users are more than just a couple of avatars and opinions. there is a greater sense of involvement and holistic participation that i feel the huddle has lost just in the last couple of days.

and i hate using words like holistic.

my suggesting is everyone get a notepad and a pencil every time you get on the huddle and every time someone likes your post the quote it and say "pi" then you tally it down on your notepad. I just give myself mental pi on all of my posts and couldn't care less what others think. But I understand for some, an ego boost here or there is their whole reason for the Huddle.

there is also virtually no point to rep as it stands currently. there is no instantly calculable parallel between a good post and the advance in reputation. the numbers are simply too high, and the only way to access it is by viewing an individual profile and nobody is going to bother with that.

i always scoffed at the saints and falcons message boards because they had this same sort of generic personality. i'll still post here as this place has its collective fingers on the pulse of the panthers franchise and is a great source of information, but by fanaticism in checking for updates is starting to lean only towards getting those updates and less in enjoying aspects of participation.

i think i'm gonna go get a life instead

    • We keep having to utilize high draft picks to make up for mistakes.  WR #8 McMillian to cover mistakes Mingo and XL; RB #111 Trevor Etienne to make up for mistake Jonathan Brooks.
    • So THAT'S why they took my guy They knew they had at least 1 sucker out there like myself who might not be able to be patient enough for them to sell the better version so they just go out and get this one now, they saw me coming from a mile away. LOL
    • I like to look at it as we have our offensive skill positions of the future set in place, IF they pan out like we think/expect them to, as we won't need to address those positions (outside of backups) for at least 5 years pending cap issues. QB: Bryce RB: Chuba/Brooks/Etienne WR: T-Mac/XL/Coker TE: Sanders If these guys become the players we think they can become, putting aside being able to find a way to afford them all, that grouping has potential to be one of the best offensive groupings in the league in 3 years from now. Yea, it all hinges on Bryce becoming that guy, but there is a crazy amount of potential in that group, and Chuba at 4 years of experience is the vet by a country mile as even Bryce is the only one there with more than 1 year of experience and he only has 2 himself.
