According to a source, Stafford will receive a six-year, $41.7 million deal that could be worth $78 million if he achieves all of his playing incentives. The source also said he will receive $41.7 million in guarantees. That tops the $41 million in guarantees Albert Haynesworth received from the Washington Redskins.

Yowsah. I read a study that showed that college completion % is one of the most reliable indicators of success in the NFL for first rounders. He's hosed if that's true.

I thought Schwartz would be smarter than that since he's a defensive HC. Of course, maybe he didn't have much input. QB is the VERY LAST THING ON GOD'S GREEN EARTH a team like that should have taken, practically speaking.

A college QB drafted in the first round has a better than 60% chance of being out of the league in 5 years. If you luck up and get a good one, you are a superbowl contender for several years. If not, you become a team like the Lions.
