If we are looking to pick up a guy like Burgess (starter quality DE) then I feel like the Panthers are actively looking for a trade with Peppers. That is the only way it makes sense for us to even think about a trade for a player like Burgess.

I can understand that, if you consider him starter quality. John Fox might not.

Last year, the organization acquired several players for the offensive line. Positions changed and players who we thought were indeed starter quality instead provided excellent depth.

I expect the same to be done for the defensive line this year.

I'll concede the weakness of the draft class, but Jramsey's right too. He'll probably be cut.

I doubt they cut him, He's still a good player just had an off year. Were familiar with that here in Panther Country. They will probably get a deal done with someone for I'd say between a 4th -6th rounder, Leaning towards the 5th.

lol how do you guys not know about this guy? He was basically an all pro version of CJ on our team. It's just that he plays on the raiders and you know how they don't get any positive media coverage (though of course it's not completely unjustified). Their defense was good 2 years ago and slipped last year because the HC and the DC had arguments and weren't on the same page, hence the whole debacle in oakland. 3rd is a bit much but for a 4th, fug yes. We don't do well with those picks anyways. I'm just wondering if we'll have enough cash to sign him.

His contract btw is a five-year, $17.5 million contract. Which is 3.5 mill a year, little much for depth. Wait until he is cut.
