Would you trade for Glenn Dorsey?

"3. The Falcons and Chiefs may not be done dealing. Per a league source, Pioli and fellow Atlanta GM Thomas Dimitroff (a former Patriots executive), may be looking to help each other out. Based on rumblings we're hearing from WFSM in Atlanta, the Chiefs and Falcons may still be working on a deal that could send defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey to Atlanta for the 24th overall and 90th overall selections."

Well, that would suck (for Panthers fans that is).

I'd like to keep Peppers AND trade for Dorsey... trading Peppers for Dorsey wouldn't move us any closer to fixing our problems on the defensive line, it would just exchange problems...

True but I don't see how we would do both. Maybe trade next years first? Could we even fit them both in with our cap space? I'd take Dorsey, a 2nd and a 3rd for Peppers and nothing less.

i like the way you think. i wonder what type of compensation they would want for him. id trade away our second this year for him in a heart beat. but im sure they would want more than that for him

Uh, we got the money for that? Even after the Delhomme resigning, we'd need a lot more for that one. Love to see it, but it aint gonna happen. Also, why would they want to trade him after one year, did anybody think about that, there must be a reason?

From what I heard, they are switching to a 3-4 and he's supposedly the odd man out. I'm not an expert on the Chiefs though, so not 100% sure why.

But you're right, we don't have the cap for it anyway. We will do well just to sign our draft picks and add a couple cheap FAs.

The reason is they are switching to a 3-4 defense and he's a 4-3 DT. He doesn't fit at DT or DE in the 3-4 Scheme. I would trade those picks for him, but the only way we get in on this is for us to trade Peppers for picks first.

Yes, that's a real convenient reason to use, but not necessarily true. Not saying it's not, but worthy of looking into...
