Jstew For...

how on earth is this supposedly such a good idea that people are joining the huddle en masse to post it?

that's essentially trading j-stew for claiborne straight up, and then we lose our first round choice.

BAD.

fuging.

IDEA.

The thought process is that we can't keep JStew after this year anyways because we can't afford to dump that much cash into one position out of 22. If we stay at #9, we don't get Claiborne. So, it's more like trading 130 JStew carries for 4-5 years of Claiborne. Sweet idea.

chances are claiborne is going to fall to us. if he doesn't there are plenty of other options available at 9 that will improve our team in other areas of need.

normally fans come up with retarded trade scenarios that completely rape other teams but now they're all trying to rape our own team.

I can't believe you people are acting like running backs have this immense value. We are not that different of a team without JStew.

I couldn't disagree more.

The entire league is going to a two-back system. The reason our offense was a top-five attack last year is because of the dual threat of deangelo williams and jonathan stewart. they were both fresh on every single snap, and while one of them excelled between the tackles the other excelled around the edges and in open space. having them in the backfield opened up the passing game AND cam's ability to escape the pocket and run himself.

It amazes me that we're only a year removed from that clusterfug of an offense in 2010 and already people are trying to remove the components of what made last year so effective.

Yeah, we now have three backs...

    • The issue is the formula is secret, and it incorporates runs... So... Yup, it does. Same with PFF (which isn't quite as secret). But when it doesn't - like on Sunday - it's often to hilarious results. PFF is more reliable I think at matching my 'eye' test.
    • According to the talking heads of the sports world, this is a pretty meh QB class.  Sanders and Ward are the only two with first round buzz, but the rest are blah.  Take that for what you will. Let's see how Bryce does in year three.  That's just where we are.  Patience is the key here.  Players need time to develop.  They can't develop if they don't play.  Bryce has made some really good throws, but he doesn't look like CJ Stroud.  That's going to be his point of comparison the rest of their careers.  The ball doesn't explode off Bryce's hand, it's not a cannon ball shot out of a cannon.  He's not going to break a 70 yard run.   Bryce is going to have to continue to make good throws and make plays.  Part of that is going to depend on the play calls.  Part of it is based on the skill players.  A couple drops picked up yesterday and it's a win and Bryce throws 1-2 more TDs.  A completely different story. It's been a crazy year indeed.  I just want to see Bryce continue to develop.  To see XL become more consistent.  To see JT fully recover (not play this season if he's not healthy).  I want to see Coker continue to make plays.  I'd love to see Brooks get more touches and Chubba continue to hammer defenses. Then this approaching offseason, let's go back to the D and work on fixing it.
    • Prime is already gone boss.  Nothing left for team Sanders in college football.
