I would hate hate hate a first round LB pick.

I hate that Beason and davis are both coming off major surgery and are likely to struggle. This wasn't part of the plan and if there were better options in free agency we might have picked up a replacement already. But draft picks are the cheapest way to go.

We need a guy who can start if needed this year not 5 years from now. Anderson was a third rounder if I remember correctly and it took 5 years for him to be the everyday starter. Even if we had pushed the issue he wasn't ready for at least 3 years.

The round you are drafted in doesn't determine how long it will take to be ready, if ever.

I can handle a 2nd round or 4th round guy. Not at 9 tho, just cant swallow that.

Anything is possible, but the last linebackers we drafted outside the first round were Connor and Anderson in the third. We just let Connor walk after 4 years as a backup and 2 down back and it took Anderson 5 years to become a starter. Sorry if that doesn't exactly thrill me.

With our luck in the second round no thanks. And frankly after having 2 3rd rounders need years to develop before they could start in Anderson and Connor, that might be fine for depth but not to replace Beason or Davis if they do down this year.

I was miserable going to all the games and watching what we put out on the field. I hated our linebackers outside of Anderson. I could get on a DT or DE bandwagon in a hurry if we picked up a legitimate starter in free agency. Plus I think Kuechly is the real deal. Some of the guys lower in the draft don't thrill me.

This would be about as good of a "problem" as a team can have. Those three will never play a significant portion of the season together. Not that I think Kuechly is the answer- he's small and slow. Would be a massive mistake at 9.
