Peyton Is Going To Denver

Wonder if SF will toss more $$ at Smith now. Or just hope $8mil a year is enough to keep him away from Miami.

If I were Smith I would make 49ers pay through the nose now. Smith was already to stay in San Fran before Peyton, but now I would use Dolphins big time. Otherwise Niners stuck with nothing at QB.

I don't think The Golden Calf of Bristol was a bust. Thought he did well and lead his team to the playoffs and even won a game. I would like to see him stay in Denver and learn from one of the best ever. It would be good for him in the long run. Say what you will about him but The Golden Calf of Bristol is a gamer.

Shuddup grits, and quit being dumb.

CSN Bay Area doesn't believe the 49ers would "panic at the thought" of giving QB Colin Kaepernick a chance to win the starting job in training camp.

However, it's almost certain Kaepernick would face veteran competition if the 49ers don't sign Peyton Manning and lose Alex Smith to free agency. SI.com's Peter King has floated Josh Johnson as a possibility, while San Francisco would surely look into Matt Hasselbeck if Manning ends up in Tennessee. If Kaepernick starts in 2012, it's unlikely to be all 16 games

and then this

CSN Bay Area's Matt Maiocco expects the 49ers to work quickly to re-sign free agent Alex Smith following Peyton Manning's decision to sign with the Broncos.

San Francisco is still widely believed to be Smith's top choice, and he's been reported to have a standing offer of three years and $24 million. That would be more than generous for a seven-year veteran who just cracked the 3,000-yards passing barrier for the first time in 2011.
