Mike Tolbert got $2.7 million guaranteed from Panthers. The $8.4 million total possible value was abt $1 million less than Chargers offered.

@JoshNorris The details will be different, but CAR got Mike Tolbert (4yr/8.2 max/2.7g) for less than the Chargers signed Le’ron McClain (3yr/8.25/3g)

I thought we were only stealing SD's leftovers, but stealing SD's talent? at a lesser price? Hurney, how u do dis?

I like the signing. Tolbert is another weapon. It doesn't look like Shockey is returning, so Tolbert is another guy who can block in the run game, pass protect, catch the ball, and play special teams. He signed for real cheap. Why would people over react and say stupid stuff like, "Hurney is the worse GM in football". Excuse me? How about Jacksonville, Miami, Cleveland, Raiders, Washington....I can go on. Also, what if Stewart doesn't want to re-sign next year? Tolbert is insurance for that. Hurney is actually thinking ahead this time. I love having Dwill and Stew, but it would help the team in the long run, if Hurney traded one of them for a 1st or 2nd rounder or another player, before Stewart becomes a Free Agent. I mean, the writing is on the wall. The Panthers cant give both RB's over 40 million. That is fiscally irresponsible cap management.
