I think its been said that you're not supposed to think of it as a prequel, but the movies share the same 'universe'

In other words, the Aliens aliens may show up in the movie, but the storyline doesn't necessarily lead directly into the Aliens movies.

I have been trying to find the answer to that, the bottom line is no one is quite sure, but its a definite possibility.

I am not that old (21) so I was fairly young when I saw the first Alien, I need to go back and watch it.

Either way this year's slate of movies looks to kill last year: The Avengers (I'm officially excited for it), Batman, The Hobbit, Prometheus, Django Unchained
