We'd be pretty much in cap hell if we re-sign J-stew too.

I don't think it would have to be that way. Usually the first year in a contract is pretty cap friiendly because the player doesn't need a big salary because he got a huge signing bonus. In 2014 the cap goes up a bunch. It would actually be harder in 2013 to franchise him then it would be to sign him long term.

That would be even worse imo, what about cap space when it's time to re-sign Cam?

If he can't get majority of the snaps with his contract, then what is he?
