I'd at least like to see us look at options at CB in FA. At least bring someone in for a workout, give someone a shot.

The question remains whether anyone we would bring in at a reasonable amount is better than who we have. If not then why waste the effort and focus on the draft where we know what they will cost and will be spending that money anyway. The guys I see mentioned who would be distinct upgrades want a ton of money and are free agents because their old team doesn't want to pay them what they think they are worth.

let's not forget, decent vets become avaliable when teams are cutting down rosters right before the season starts. A lot of teams have guys now they will decide later they are going to move on from as they will feel confident in youth...

some CB band-aids could be there later.

With the huge increase in the CAP space coming due to the new TV deals is paying Stewart really that far-fetched? We're talking an approximate 20-25 Million dollar boost in 2014. It is perfectly plausible that the Panthers could resign Stew for more money then Deangelo and give him the bulk of it starting 2014 and after.

Like Jangler said. They'll both sign a second contract here. Hurney and Richardson are commited to their own. The only reason Stew wouldn't want to stay is if he personally isnt happy here. I can't see that happening tho, you watch him on the sidelines, in the huddle and you see someone who loves the guys he's around and what he does. Plus, I think he knows how close this team is and certainly doesnt want to be on the outside looking in once we arrive.

Onto the original post. Mike Tolbert. Would love to have the guy here. He's a strong downhill runner that is an effective pass catcher and a good blocker. Very possible he signs on to play fullback which would just give Cam one more weapon. Brockel and Felton weren't anything special. I think the thing that people are most overlooking here is that Tolbert is a special teams ACE. He's become very dangerous in that department. You know, the one we were dead last in last year?

I have avoided this thread because I knew what it was about...

I have said it and will say it agian, damn it!

DWill and JStew will sign 2 contracts with the Panthers. Hurney builds a core and keeps them on the team. And he has built a pretty good and big core. Why now would that change?

The only people wanting to change, are the ones that believe that Stew is gone. The rest of us believe Stew will get his money from the Panthers. You do not let players of Stews ability get away.
