j-stew will get extended. there's no logical reason to assume he's going anywhere unless you're one of those people who thrives on posting doom scenarios to ease the blow for yourself in case it happens.

williams will stay this season at least due to his contract.

if tolbert is ok with backup money, i say bring him in. people bitching about us bringing in someone at a position we're stacked in are usually the ones complaining about hurney's lack of foresight, when this is actually him being foresighted and proactively dealing with a position that stands to change down the road. tolbert would be a contributor, insurance, and collateral all in one package. why NOT sign him?

Your argument is too rational. You suck and lose and are retarded because you use logic and don't assume the sky is falling and whine like a little girl.

future doesnt look bright for goodson

especially based on that read. personally, his time should have already been up. they can take another back behind him too. no production....heck...goodson/edwards can both go to make space if necessary imo.

Really hard to say what Jstews future is going to be. I think dwill will restructure but at the same time, if the Panthers don't know whether they are going to be able to hold onto Jstew for whatever reason I wish they would trade him and get something out of the situation. It's always hard trying to figure out what hte Panthers will do because keeping him and letting him walk seems to be a valid option in this organization when not so much elsewhere, for this calibur of a player anyway.

The FO needs to figure it out. I hope that if Jstew were to stay this season it would be a sign of planning to resign him.

why would he come here for back up money? he is already a backup in san diego. why come here to get the same money and be behind 2 other rbs?

He is only coming here if he is advised Double Trouble is going to be split up IMO.... If not he will go elsewhere

If they are looking at Tolbert I can't see how it's a given that both RBs will be around. Seems like he is insurance incase Stewart leaves.

Talk about over analyzing the situation.

First, those suggesting that either Stewart or Williams are on the block need to take into account what Gantt, Reed, and even Person had to say on the situation. I'm paraphrasing of course but it goes a little something like this, "Stewart is not on the block, Williams is not on the block, Goodson is in the doghouse." Rivera has never been fond of Goodson so why would he keep him around another year?

Second, Rivera's idea of a scat back could just be a running back that excels at catching the ball out of the backfield. That would definitley describe Tolbert.

Third, Rivera may want an insuranse policy in Tolbert just in case one of our other two stud running backs gets hurt.

Fourth and Finally, depth...depth...and more depth. You can never have enough depth. Now someone is going to smart off and say why don't they worry about positions of need and my answer would be... after seeing how many injuries occurred last year, every position is a position of need because you never lnow when the next guy in line is going to have to step up.

Stewart is a tough player and gets tough yards when needed and is great catching out of the back field and picking up the blitz and a nice change of pace from D-lo.

Tolbert is an ok back. He is not in Stewart's class.

Am I the only one who is becoming sick to death of the 'Chargers West' movement.

I mean really what have the Chargers done in the past 10 years to have this movement to the Panthers.

You can have too much depth at RB--we have limited rosters and a salary cap. DW and Stew averaged 20 carries per game last year--combined. Great idea for foxball, but this is Chud ball. More OL, WR, and we need 2 RBs--a scatback and a between the tackles runner.

If I were the GM, I am not sure I would have any RB on a second contract. Rarely do they pay off. Marshall Faulk is the exception.

But I do not see how anyone can say, "You can never have too much depth at RB" when Neblett is a starting DT and an Undrafted rookie is at RT.
