Mike Tolbert mentioned as a possible FA? Eh?

Recommended Posts

I thank Tolbert would be a good backup to Dwill. BTW some people on here thank panthers will let Stewart go after this season for nothing. I don't thank that will happen. Either the panthers will put the franchise tag on him or tender him and allow him to go out on the FA market see what team is willing to sign him and give up a 2 rd draft pick for him. Bottomline either he stays and holds out and not sign the franchise tag or sign it and play next year the on the tag or be tender and some team will have to give up atleast second rd pick for him. Panthers will get something for him anyway you see it.

If he does get traded on draft day. Hurney better not take no less then a second round pick for him. Anything below that is just a waste of time.

Why would we take less than a 1. He was a first rounder when we took him and he has been very productive. You would think his value has gone up not down.

Cincinnati has not signed a single player during this offseason. Their second first rounder or their second rounder could be a trade scenario with Stewart and they will have to work out a new contract upon the trade.

Benson is not the answer for them. Stewart would make them much better including their QB. They would then have the Trifecta. WR, RB, and QB for their future.

Just sayin'

remember when Rivera was talking about how we needed a Daren Sproles type player, me thinks this is what this is.

wtf, is this a serious post?

trade stewart when we can get something for him. tolbert and stewie are similar back .

i think tolbert is actually a better pass catching back than stewie.

i dont think stewie wants to be here in the future

sigh..

I wouldn't mind him on our team as long as that means that none of our guy's are leaving. Maybe at fullback or on short yardage situations.

The part I don't get is "He wants more money than the chargers are willing to give". Are we really going to give some guy a lot of money to play fullback/3rd down RB?

Sounds like writers are making the easy "Rivera and Chud were Charger coaches, so of course they want an ex-Charger" connection. I think it's simply deductive speculation not rooted in any real inside info. I could be wrong, but....yawn...

If this happens, one can start speculating that Stewy gets traded on Draft day 2

Pretty much.

I don't think I would mind trading Stewie if we signed Tolbert, but we would need to get some serious compensation. Maybe somehow work it out with New England, who is letting the Law Firm go.

I wouldn't hate bringing in Tolbert. IF the Panthers truly believe that Stewart will not sign here once he is a FA, then, hopefully they do try to get something for him while they can, rather than wait too late, like they did with Peppers.
