10:26*Following his visit yesterday Aaron Wilson is reporting that the Carolina Panthers are expected to lock up a deal with former Raven S Haruki Nakamura on a three year deal. Nakamura struggled for playing time this season registering only 39 snaps this year and picking up four tackles. His highest snap count in four seasons in Baltimore was 286 during the 2010 season where he struggled to make an impact but also proved not to be a weak link. The Panthers were killed last season by big plays yielded by their safeties and Nakamura should at least bring competition for Sherrod Martin, on merit he could beat him out.

I like it. Sounds like a hungry player wanting a chance and can help ST. Best case scenario, we get a decent starter. Worst case...at least I don't have to look at Sherrod as much.

Playing behind Ed Reed is nothing to be ashamed of. Reed is the best safety in the past decade.

When Rex Ryan drafted this guy he said he wanted the toughest guy there. Nakamura is a smart, aggressive player. Great signing.

This is actually a good, under the radar signing. Nakamura has generally been solid when called upon in Balitmore, and should get much more of a chance here. I'd think he could beat out Martin for sure.
