Oh man. So, there we were, right? And she says to me, she says, "so, (my name), I have to tell you something." And so I say, "well, what is it?" So then she says, "I'm pregnant." So then I say, "Well, at least I'll be a father." Finally she says, "it's not yours."

Talk about egg on my face. Golly.

None of this actually happened, but it was a good story.

We were at my wife's Uncle's house, his daughter's graduation party. Big family get-together and I was playin football with all the kids. One of them was a beast in the making, had a decent arm, could catch, had good size, etc.. We'd been playin for a while when I said "C'mere little dude" to the beast. "Im a girl" was the reply... I felt horrible........

2 weeks ago at a happy hour. Did the classic so when is the big date for you and your fiance moment. Not knowing they called it off months ago. DOH. :gnorsi:

Did this exact same thing but my faux pas was also in front of about 8 other people at a work tradeshow event last week incluing my boss and his boss and a bunch of coworkers from both of our companies.

The last time I'd seen this guy was about a month before, and we talked for a while about his wedding and the honeymoon and whatever else, so I thought it was reasonable to ask about it again. Brought it up in a lull in the conversation and immediately knew by his face they were done.

So awkward.

One time I volunteered to teach a crafts class to my daughters afterschool program and there was a girl there who looked like a linebacker. I kept calling her a him, or a dude, and then remembering and apologizing - she kept telling me it was ok but I felt so awful about it, and still do.
