Which QB would you have extended then???

12-4

Delhomme was responsible for us having that record.

If you dont believe me then go RE-WATCH the 1st game and the last game.

BOTH GAMES Delhomme won from behind and in the last minutes.

If it wasent for Delhomme our year would not have been as good as it was, plain and simple, no matter how bad you want to believe otherwise.

Wow, man..

 at the bold. sh*t lol at the whole thing

Did I read something wrong? The 2009 playoff was Jan last year, and he was talking about being motivated for the 2009 season, which is over as well.

No matter.

I think the bottom-line is his arm is not good enough or consistent enough to hit that small window in the NFL that is required to complete a pass.

It really does not matter whether he is motivated or not, if his physical skills aren't there.

ha-ha-ha--

Jokes on me...

I supported Delhomme (still do)

He had a TERRIBLE season, and not one to ever want to remember..

I hope he goes out in better fashion. He deserves it. I hate that the guy sucked so bad, its tough to watch a guy with that much character fail as he did last season..

I dont think he has seen his last football yet...

No problem with that as long as he's THROWN his last as the Carolina Panthers starting qb.

I agree with you. He's still the best QB this franchise has ever had. Sure, I hope Moore surpasses that by a lot, but as it stands right now, Jake is on top. He does deserve better. I don't want him to start again but maybe he could find a niche somewhere else.

Come on now... There is no one that has done more for this team (good and bad) than Jake Delhomme.

You have to be a franchise QB to earn that right, he was, and he did.

Years from now we all will remember how bad he played for us, but even more we will remember the 18 come from behind wins, the Super Bowl run, the long bombs to Smitty, and the joy that Cajun brought to the Carolinas...

Its easy to say without him we would have found someone to do the same, but with teams like the lions, browns, bills, dolphins, ect still searching for that "type" of guy-- It looks like we were pretty lucky..

I doubt he is finished yet, its not in his personality to quit.

Folks said the same things about Warner 5 years ago as they do jake now, I dont know if Jake will finish as strong but I am sure he will finish stronger than most think...

He is not the best QB this team has had. We had a guy named Steve who did more with less.

    • Yeah I'm not into college as much, so I admit not to having my own opinion about him coming out. But strictly watching ESPN shows, and going off of commentary at the time..It was a lot more 50/50 even on this board than what people like to remember and admit.  Yes many people had doubts and questions, but MANY people also thought he could possibly be the one. I was only versed enough to know that it was between he and CJ, but most pundits made it sound like either way we had a QB of the future, just different skillsets/traits.
    • Jonathan Mingo to the Cowboys Cowboys receive: WR Jonathan Mingo, 2025 seventh-round pick Panthers receive: 2025 fourth-round pick  Dallas Cowboys: C Leave it to Jerry Jones to wait until after Dak Prescott is injured to go after another receiver. To be fair, the Dallas Cowboys have a real need for the position. CeeDee Lamb is a superstar, but Jalen Tolbert and Brandin Cooks haven't been the needle movers that the Cowboys were hoping for. Making a trade for a receiver wasn't a bad move, but the player that the Cowboys gave up three rounds of value to acquire is questionable. Jonathan Mingo checked a lot of physical and athletic boxes as the 40th-overall pick in 2023. Unfortunately, the 6-foot-2, 220-pound wideout has struggled to be a productive receiver at the NFL level. Some of that has to do with playing for the Carolina Panthers, but Mingo has seriously lacked efficiency at the position. Mingo has yet to record his first NFL touchdown, catching 55 passes for 539 yards. Per TruMedia, he has just 0.74 yards per route run in his career, which ranks 177th out of 186 receivers with at least 50 targets since the start of the 2023 season.Even though Mingo fills a need, that's a lot of value to give up for a receiver that's struggled so much at the NFL level. The good news is that he still has a couple more years on his rookie deal, so at least the Cowboys are getting a cheap developmental project to learn from a star like Lamb. Carolina Panthers: A Instead of trying to hold onto Mingo, the Panthers took what they could get, and that turned out to be way more than expected. Mingo quickly became expendable thanks to the rapid ascension of rookie receiver Xavier Legette. Along with a larger-than-life personality, Legette has hauled in 26 catches for 244 yards and four touchdowns. Three of those touchdowns have come in the last four games, with Legette becoming more and more of a focal point in Carolina's offense. For a team that needs to capitalize as much as possible on draft assets, moving up three rounds in the draft to move on from a disappointing draft pick feels like an absolute win. https://www.the33rdteam.com/nfl-trade-deadline-2024-grading-every-move/
