Playoff loss leaves Delhomme motivated for 2009

I got a question for knowledgeable Jake followers.

I know he doesn't check down and I know he misses the TE's. But has Jake shown the ability to read defenses before? I know he throws behind WR's but does anyone know exactly what his issue is? I don't expect him to pick apart defenses like Peyton Manning or anything but what specific flaws do you see in his decision making and reads? Besides laser lock on Smith.

I still believe that Arizona found something in his delivery that they keyed in on. Other that yes he can read the field, you don't throw over 17 thousand yards and 100+ td's and not be able to do so.

I figured so. I've just been seeing some rumors around the board that Jake can't read defenses. I remember after the ARZ game someone on the board noticed something Jake was doing right before he was throwing to his targets and figured that was what the cards had on him. It might have been a pump fake he was doing I forgot exactly.

He used to show flashes of being able to read defenses, but that has long been gone now.

When the pocket breaks down, he gets stupid and panics. If the defense is really good and they bring pressure on him, they get inside his head and he never recovers.

He has happy feet standing in the pocket causing his passes to be thrown off target.

If there is no one open, he would rather throw to Smith regardless if he's doubled or tripled teamed.

If a play is designed for a specific reciever, more times than not he will force the ball to that reciever rather than scanning the field and seeing another obvious open receiver waiting for the ball.

Pre-snap he hardly ever audibles even when the defense is showing an obvious blitz.

He has very poor ball security. He just has it too far from his body just asking for it to be knocked out of his hands.

He has poor pocket awareness and his internal clock is way off track.

He has poor peripheral vision as shown in the Viking's game when the defender ran straight to his front side and sacked him causing a fumble.

Jake wouldn't look at his options, he kept staring the single man down like he has his whole career. Then he'd make a bad throw into coverage, he wouldn't read the entire field.. just the receiver of his intened throw. It reminded me of a Neil O'Donnell.

Wow I actually compared him to Neil a long time ago.

He is actually right. Jake didnt earn this extension he got lucky with our salary cap problems.

Which QB would you have extended then???

12-4

Delhomme was responsible for us having that record.

If you dont believe me then go RE-WATCH the 1st game and the last game.

BOTH GAMES Delhomme won from behind and in the last minutes.

If it wasent for Delhomme our year would not have been as good as it was, plain and simple, no matter how bad you want to believe otherwise.

Deangelo Williams, Jordan Gross, Ryan Kalil, Keydrick Vincent, Jeff Otah and Travelle Wharton were far faaar more responsible for 12-4 than Delhomme was.

Also, I can point out more than 2 games where we won despite Jake, not because of him.

Jake got us to the playoffs, he can take us out!
