Our linebackers

Simply put - when healthy, we have one of the best LB cores in the NFL. Not a lot of depth though so if two of our starters get injured, we suck at LB.

We def need to build some depth on the defense and at LB.

Thomas Davis is the Bob Sanders of LBs...simply put you can't continue to talk about when he is healthy.

i love TD and what he brings to the table when healthy, but anyone expecting him to be a major contributor for more than 3-4 games next year is frankly naive. He just can't stay healthy and its a shame. I wish we would come to grips with that as an organization and not throw around ridiculous contracts that hinder our ability to sign HEALTHY players when we need them. A few quality backup/journeymen who have no previous health concerns would fit the bill here more than a more skilled guy with an injury riddled past.......

Omar Gaither anyone? :(

This.

And everyone assumes that Davis and Beason are going to be healthy. If you do not think that we need two starting caliber LB's and extra depth, you are sadly mistaken.

The best thing we can do for our Labs this year is to get another DT in FA so they are not getting plowed over by G all day long.

A raw rookie won't aid anything. Current DTs likely will be better with a season under their belt and an actual offseason. But I do think we need another Ron Edwards caliber DT to be added in

If you honestly think Connor was the best thing about our linebackers last season, then either you're a fool or you didn't watch our games. Hell, even if you only pulled up the stat sheet you'd be better informed than that nonsense. There's a reason we didn't try to hold onto Connor. He's slow, nonathletic, completely worthless in our system, and can barely keep up with a four year old. Way to snub James Anderson btw. The guy worked his ass off trying to fill Beason's shoes and he did a remarkable job. Too bad there were two huge holes on either side of him and our linebacker corps still ended up looking like ass. Anderson played so well, that if Beason doesn't come back to full form next season, we already have a backup plan. LOL Connor was the only highlight. That's a good one. You sure you didn't come here after jumping off the Saints bandwagon?

I am not sure why we even drafted the Conner in the first place? Hurney majic I guess

I agree we need linebackers and not just depth but guys who can contribute in the rotation and start if necessary given the uncertainty with davis and Beason. I would love Kuechly at 9 but can also see taking a corner or D linemen as well. I am high on Kuechly because I think he is special and there isn't anyone close to his talent or production in the draft. But you could make the same case for Claibourne or Blackmon, or even Coples (if he is the next Julius Peppers).

In any event we need linebackers and we really can't count on both daviss and Beason returning to their pre-injury form. I would love if we could but when have we gotten that lucky before????

Kirkpatrick as well in the CB department. I like Kuechly but starting LBs are easy to draft and while this is a thin year most years are not. Cant say the same for CB or DT.
