And then there was a group who was smart enough to realize that this team needs a few more key pieces that could only be added by way of an offseason.

The panthers forsake the opportunity to improve to stick to "their plan." the same plan that has led them to an all time losing record.

It's a shame, but until some key figureheads of this organization move on, this team will likely never see perennial success. They just don't have the balls to commit to winning. When other teams have a need, they do whatever they can to fill it. When the Saints lose an all star Guard, they replace him with another.

When the Panthers lose talent, they seek a financially feasible alternative.

Because Lord knows if you can't be good, you better dang sure be cost effective.

Its a shame, because I thought with Cam this team had finally sniffed greatness, and would do whatever it took to go over the edge, but sadly, the pie chart comes first.

AGREE!!!!!

Thought I was the only one feeling this way. Saints got Grubbs . Heard they bringing in Hawthorne in for vilma. And us? Maybe jason brown in for Wharton? Downgrade. I dnt want anyone one of y'all complaining bout our OL nxt year who were fine w the loss of Wharton.

It's seems like every FA all we do is look for ST players. N we still suck in that phase.

All I want it's for example a: Gary and EarlyDoucet n I'd be fawken happy.

How did we get worse? We got rid of a bad HC, added a franchise QB, got great play out of our #1 CB again, added a TE weapon in Olsen and a Coach in Chud that has made our offense top 5 calliber from uuuhhhhh close to last in the league i beleive.

I'm not talkin bout last year. I'm talking about last year to this year.

Loss of Wharton. Replace w who, Jason brown? Is that an upgrade for you?

No backup MLB (Connor).

No Shockey.

No true DT n a real second pass rusher.

No true no.2 cb

We could possibly Get Atleast two position fill in the draft but what about the rest. That's why we need to take care of the others now in FA

You make sense...but it's clear that we're looking at some Safeies, LBs, & OLs that Rivera/Hurney see fit. The FA period just started and there's over a month until the draft. Patience and optimism are virtues.

I made this thread because an additional counter balance was necessary for many here

My bad. DT lets see what McClain and Edwards can do tho next year. Hogan or Butler i think can be a good #2 CB. TE, Barnidge can fill Shockeys shoes (i would like to have him back tho) He was never put into a good system with Fox and unfortunately he broke is ankle like the first day of practice. We do need LB's like WHOA! because Davis prob wont finish this season and Beason isn't gon be the same

With all of the potential new additions whether be the draft or the FA, we now have a full offseason to develop a team under Rivera, a coach who brings out the best in defensive players with a resume to show for it.

I'm gonna just go out and say I'm pumped as f**king poo to see the progress and potential sleeper boomers in these guys

128803050_display_image.jpg?1330313971

Kearse, Shirley, Keiser, McClain, Darius Butler, & Neblett

Rivera has them here because he clearly sees something he likes who he additionally trusts with McDermott. Midst this offeason and whoever we get, I'm just saying: don't forget these guys. I'm thinking most of them will still be here regardless of who we add/release and they have the ability...and are near translating it at full capacity in the NFL.

Aah optimism. I love it. Just not a great way to win friends around these here parts.

We won four of our last six games last year. That should be grounds for optimism. (Yeah but... we only had six total wins.)

Cameron will be another year better. That should garner some optimism. (Yeah but... What if he sucks cuz our O-line sucks. We did lose Wharton.)

We get a bunch of injured players back. That should amp up the optimism. (Derp... No one can come back from injuries, it just does not happen.)

All the young guys got a lot of experience. That should up the optimism. (Yeah derp... our young guys suck, no amount of experience can change that.)

A couple of draft picks and FAs that make an impact. That should add to the optimism. (But but... Hurney sucks at the draft, and all the good FAs are gone already.)

Lots of things to be optimistic about. Only if you let yourself be optimistic. It does not hurt. I promise. I am positive that if you try hard enough, you too can think of something to be positive about.

Thanks Beach. My giddy needed that. And GOOOOO CATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, this is one of the most impressive examples of selfimportant drivel I have ever read. And I loved Dave Berry.

So your group was the only group to notice the total lack of depth last year? I may not belong to Mensa, but even I knew we were berift of talent.

The Panthers stick to "Their plan" and are assured of negative results? That is harsh. What HAS been instrumental in an all-time losing record? The lact of quality QB play. It really is just that simple.

When other teams have needs they fill them. Really? And the example you use is the Aints getting a guard to replace Nicks? Again, I am no genious, but it seems to me, replacing one guard is much easier than infusing much needed talent.

I hate that you seem to gloss over this aspect. The cap is not an absolute, it can be munipulated. The Panthers have done this exact thing numerous times. They must not see anyone they were willing to spend on. Because, in the past, they have shown a willingness to work that cap for players they want. Come on man.

"It's a shame" Really? A shame? Why? Because the Panthers dare to run their organization by a preconceived game plan. A plan, by the way, they have pretty much followed from conception.

What is a shame? Is the number of times snide remarks and slurs appear when opinions are not taken as holy writ.

Aahh the interwebz. And GOOOOO CATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11
