It's hard to expect much from those guys tbh. Hopefully our key guys can stay healthy because the defense doesn't need to dominate. If the offense can be elite again then the defense just need to compliment the offense. Red Zone + turnovers will be the key.

Anybody else think we need to get Applewhite back? I certainly do.

I do, and of the free agents we let walk, I think he is the most likely one we bring back. He had a little success here last year, but not enough to get a better contract offer from someone else. He is scheme versatile and is familiar with what Rivera likes to do.

Get real man, unless we overspend for average talent, I don't see us winning 6 games.
yep. this is TRUTH and PROOF that your team cares about winning. you go out there and WASTE good money on medicore talent rather than just wait a few days or a week or two to add decent depth and solid role players and maybe a starter or two to go along with the potential starters you pick up the draft.

screw building through the draft. screw locking up core players.

if you aren't bitching and moaning about us not spending then you are an apathetic loser fan who wants this team to be average forever.

or something like that.....

It's funny how I saw 80% of the huddle during the season saying "I can't wait to see what this teams like with an offseason". Now most those same 80% people are bitching and moaning about how we arent buying a bunch of overpaid random pieces to plug into a team that was gelling and playing good down the stretch.

Our DT and CB (Gamble, Butler, HOGAN) play will be better next year, our offense is still intact minus an overpaid gaurd n plus gettin Gettis back, and all we seriously need to do is add some depth to this team and i think we can make a serious run.

I'm happy with the small moves we have done releasing the dead weight and not adding some randoms who arent gunna make a impact here.

And then there was a group who was smart enough to realize that this team needs a few more key pieces that could only be added by way of an offseason.

The panthers forsake the opportunity to improve to stick to "their plan." the same plan that has led them to an all time losing record.

It's a shame, but until some key figureheads of this organization move on, this team will likely never see perennial success. They just don't have the balls to commit to winning. When other teams have a need, they do whatever they can to fill it. When the Saints lose an all star Guard, they replace him with another.

When the Panthers lose talent, they seek a financially feasible alternative.

Because Lord knows if you can't be good, you better dang sure be cost effective.

Its a shame, because I thought with Cam this team had finally sniffed greatness, and would do whatever it took to go over the edge, but sadly, the pie chart comes first.

It's a salary cap. You only have so much flexibility. Especially coming off a year when you put off contract signing and extending because of a expected work stoppage. I could see if we had 25-36 mill sitting around like the Bucs and the skins, but we were over the cap until a few days ago.

It's no one's fault but Hurneys that we were over the cap a few days ago. All this crap he's waited until the last minute to do could have been done weeks ago. Combine some questionables resignee's last offseason and voila. You are where we are.

Cap space is easily moved and altered. If the Panthers wanted to target someone productive they could have done so. They have chosen not to, and going by what Hurney has said, will be banking next season on the likes of Ron Edwards, Thomas Davis, and Jeff Otah.
