Jenkins signed for 5 years at $25 million, Rogers signed for 4 years for $29.3.

How is that less than DWill with $20 million left over?

versus

Williams 2011 + 2012 = 3,200,000 + 8,450,000 = 11,650,000

Williams made less than Cullen alone, so unless you had significantly more guys you wanted to axe, this wouldn't have worked.

Yea I said it then, that it was an awful contract. It was a contract made to insulate Cam; he didn't end up needing it but how was Richardson to know that back then?

yeah, um....so 24 of 32 teams have achieved back to back winning seasons. Like I said, lots of teams have achieved back to back winning seasons in that time frame.

And the majority had great quarterback play for those periods, which was my point.

Rogers contract last season was much less. I'm going by last season.

Had we been able to sign Rogers last year to the same deal as SF, I would have been all for it. I wanted him bad last year.

But you cannot compare a 1 year rent-a-player deal to a long term deal like DWilll's or like Rogers' this year.

I'm still pissed over his contract, money could have definitely went elsewhere or saved to re-sign J-stew. He was paid far too much for a RB of his age, and probably will never rush 1,000 yards ever again. :rant:

Alright, but you could argue that almost 1,000 total yards and 7 touchdowns versus 40 tackles and 5.5 sacks in a system that emphasized the defensive linemen getting up field and making plays is a bigger impact.

I won't say that because I didn't watch a ton of Eagles games and it's hard to evaluate defensive line play from stats. But you have to admit, this whole "Hurney should have done anything else" thing looks a little different when you really analyze it.
