we could of used better S, LBs, DE, DT last year.....

using the money elsewhere also doesn't mean you sign 1 defensive player. Means you have more money to have better players backing up your starters as well.

and that still is running up hill...rules make it smarter to take advantage of defenses defending the pass (not run). Which means you need even better talent on D than in the past. In the past you could cover up holes on defense being physical.

I dont disagree....we were clearly embarresed on defense last year and cannot catch a break on injuries.Depending on who we draft I hope to improve but I am afraid we are far from being where we need to be.

People who use age as a judging factor are extremely ignorant. A true professional prepares himself for a long career. I mean the guy is 28 years old and people treat him like a dinosaur and has been yet there's maybe only 3 people in the league that have been more consistent for their team...and not to mention he was our most productive runner last year.

Patriots are a passing team. There passing game is now and has been a clear extention of the run game.

No one wants a 35 yr old RB. Nothing to support Williams will be doing diddly poo in his mid 30s as you claim. Just b/c you found one guy who is 35 and not asked to do hardly anything....doesn't mean teams want 35 year RBs.

Cleveland Browns

Washington Redskins

Detroit Lions

San Francisco 49ers

The Jaguars, Raiders, Cardinals, and the Falcons did it one time mostly with a good quarterback when they did.

Hey what do you know? A bunch of teams with no franchise quarterback during that period. It seems like that was a bigger deal than a couple free agent contracts to having back to back winning seasons.

yeah, um....so 24 of 32 teams have achieved back to back winning seasons. Like I said, lots of teams have achieved back to back winning seasons in that time frame.
