Who is the BPA at #9

I would get Couples from that list, and I hate Carolina more than anything.

I love players with super potential.

Plus as the Giants have shown, can never have too many pass rushers.

Agreed with this. He is a fuging beast with an incredibly high ceiling.

I get so tired about "well he takes plays off etc". All d-linemen do. I probably said the same thing about Peppers but I was just being a bitter homer because he left. When you play a position on the d-line, you're NOT going to be able to give it your all every down. Go look at Suh, Ngata, Jared Allen, etc. They all perform disappearing acts during games.

Yep using things like stats, positions, game play, and physical attributes is for the bee's I tell ya

I got this here gut feeling...he gunna be goood

I thought it was the other way around. Like for Kuechly- Ignore his combine numbers, ignore he lead the nation in tackles for 2 years straight and was second as a freshmen, ignore the 7 INTs (2 for pick sixes), 17 passess defended.

Compare him to a guy who did far less in college and harp on sacks which he wasn't asked to do. Yeah he is going to be Aaron Curry although he beat Patrick WIllis's college production by a ton. In fact he beat Dan Morgan's production and every other linebacker in college history for his first 3 years in college. But lets ignore all that.

I would hope he will get credit for his contribution in College.I am not being critical but wonder why our fans are enamoured by the seemingly underachievers that look good in shorts.

I voted Coples. If thats what we are looking at at the ninth pick, im either trading down or picking Coples.

Coples has the talent, but the motivation is a question mark. We need DT's, but some forget Coples played a lot of DT at UNC. He can play both positions.

Like Poe or Coples???? Both of those guys didn't perform as well as they should have but the hope is that as professionals they will mature, learn better technique and work ethic and use their god given talent. One thing they will find right away is that starting was a given when they were in college because they were very good on their respective teams. In the pros they are likely to get humbled and have to ride the pines untl they show they are the best option on the field.

Dwayne Jarrett.

Being able to play the game is one thing. Drafting a LB in the top ten when we already have a top 10 LB is foolish. Especially when it's so far down the list of needs.

I am not saying he won't be a great pro, maybe a HOF'er, but that's to be seen, and his position does not win you SB's.

So the question has gone form BPA to who you think is the one player who will win you a SB?

I'd say it's Reiff or Decastro if I'm simply answering the question. Throw Kuechly in there as well.

The question was first asked, who is BPA, then asked a second question....who would you pick.

I am not doubting Kuechly as a player in any way. Just that IMO it would be foolish to draft a MLB when we have a top 5 MLB on the roster who we just signed to the highest inside LB contract in league history.

That said, no I don't think that LB's win you SB's in a 43 defense.

No player wins you a super bowl. Teams of good players do. I don't really understand where you are going with that.

I'm not personally big on taking Kuechly but he's got the physical attributes to play strong side as well.

In the NFL of today there are positions that are more important than others.

LB and SS are two of the least valueable positions on the D side.

RB and RG are two of the least valueable on the O side.

Meaning that you can find these positions on the FA pile, the UDFA pile, late in the draft etc.

It is really really hard to find the more important positions like QB, LT, DE, DT, CB. Those are the tough ones, and IMO the ones that you should target high in the draft.

As a team we have a bad habit of targeting LB's and RB's in the 1st round. IMO that is not the way to have long term success in todays NFL.
