Bucs have a cash problem?

You always give signing bonuses because you can prorate it over contract life and it's professional thing to do. When you don't, you got money issue. Even practice squad players get signing bonuses.

this is true but the bucs can afford to dump all the guaranteed money this year. prorating it over later years is not in the best interest in them due to the amount of high profile youth is on their team.

they are going to need all the cap they can get their hands on when freeman, claiborne, bowers, mccoy and whoever they draft this year hits the end of their rookie contract.

They went into a lot of debt to buy Manchester U., so much of the revenue is going to debt service.

did not know this. that explains it then. dont know much about the bucs owner, didnt realize he hasnt quite started to pull in big bucks from MU yet.

You can always manipulate cap space. Cap space is for us, fans. When you don't give out signing bonus, its not because u try to do something special that no one else does, its because they don't have the money. There are 31 other teams who all give their players signing bonuses.
