There HAS to be a trade coming with Peppers.

Hey, I'm not the only person thats been trashing Jake on this forum. Plenty of Panther fans have been praying for a change. Any guy with the ability to sling the ball could do Jake's job. He's settled in well with Fox though, so yea... he'll be locked until Fox gets fired.

'Any guy with the ability to sling the ball could do Jake's job'? What cr@p!

The guy has gotten us closer to a Super Bowl victory than any other QB in this team's history yet after 1 bad game (OK, a meltdown) he is suddenly the worst QB in the freakin' NFL?!

Jake was just given a 1-year contract, maybe 2, and notification that he won't be on the team much longer than that. The ONLY reasons Carolina didn't go in a different direction, IMO, are because 1) there was no better option out there available, 2) Even if there had been the Panthers were so CAP-strapped and already down 1 1st round draft pick that they couldn't even re-sign some of their key back-ups let alone go out and get another/better QB!

Peppers F*ed the Panthers by not signing the Franchise contract, which would have allowed Carolina to try to work a trade while he and his agent did the same. Carolina made the business-smart decision of franchising him to get something for him rather than just let him walk.

Tonight Carolina did the business-smart thing of extending Jake to a contract that 1) lowers the Cap hit allowing themto afford to sign their draft picks, 2)Pays Jake $20 Mil in guaranteed money and $8 Mil instead of $11 Mil a season. Even Jake knows, though, that he will never see 1) 5 more years in Carolina, which is why he demanded $20 Mil in guaranteed money, or 2) all of the the 5 years and $42+ Mil . When Carolina decides to finally cut Jake, the only CAP hit they will have is the un-paid balance of the $20 mil in guaranteed money.

lol don't you guys think that with the draft being tomorrow that Pep would need to have signed his tender by now? He's not going anywhere. Don't get me wrong, unless he takes a pay cut and stays motivated all year, he can go kick rocks if it was up to me. Just don't think it'll happen.

Actually Peppers stated well before free agency that he wanted out of Carolina and said if tagged... first thing he'd be doing is asking for a trade. Before this off-season, he turned down a lucrative contract extension...

He starts to bicker with the front office and what do they do? They try to lock him up against his will... So, yea... they should suffer.

LOL, you're an idiot.

Do you know how much that will be. If we cut him next year 16kk the year after that 12kk the next year 8kk. I really can't see us taking a hit over 10kk so we are stuck with him for 3 more years. Bone headed move IMO. He is in his last year of his contract let him play it out and see how he does. If nothing else its a contract year so maybe his play will be better. As far as the cap room is concerned it would be so much easier just to rid yourself of that 17kk wart you have growing off our backs. Just trade him for whatever you can get.

It's become quite obvious at this point that you have absolutely no idea what the fvck you're talking about. Do you have any concept on how a Front Office should manage a team, particularly it's most valuable asset?

Yeah, let's just let him walk to make him happy. Please immeditaly seek employment with anyone in the NFC South other than the Panthers.

Carolina and Peppers has a better relationship than people think?

He lit Carolina up for 'mis-managing / utilizing players', said he doesn't won't to play in Carolina anymore, doesn't want to remain in Charlotte, and will not sign a long-term contract with Carolina! He is either serios about not signing long-term and leaving Charlotte or he is a big, gat, hypocritical LIAR...which I do not believe to be the case.

Carolina tied his hands by slapping the Franchise tag on him, and he returned the favor, hand-cuffing Carolina, in an effort to make sure Carolina didn't pawn him off on some team like Detroit, doing this by refusing to sign his Franchise paperwork, which prevents Carolina from talking to ANYONE about a trade.

There is 36+ hours for Peppers to come in, sign the paperwork, and offer Carolina a team / an offer his agent has worked out for Carolina to agree to (or not). If the draft begins and he still hasn't signed, Carolina still can't talk to any teams about a trade, which will probabl y mean JP stays in Carolina 1 more season.

If JP comes to Carolina AFTER the draft, signs the paperwork, then puts a deal for a trade onthe table, thus $crewing Carolina out of a 1st round pick + and still expects to be traded this year...well, if I was Carolina and was 'done' this way up until THAT point, I would me mad as h@ll and completely un-willing to concede anything that pr!ck wanted, if nothing but for spite! But let's say his loser agent can't find anyonewilling to trade, Carolina then has to worry about a guy getting paid more than $1 million A GAME, holding out, sand-bagging, and/or being a locker-room distraction (reports say he's still not talking to his teammates)!

Oh yeah, things are just great between Carolina and JP!

Pep said he thinks a different defense could get more out of him.......which is probably true.....but that somehow makes him a jerk?

Pep did say he wants out and won't sign a long term contract.....he is trying to leave and go to another team. If the Panthers wanted to draft Pat White then they would probably say they aren't interested and prefer someone else.........you can't take what these people say to the media as "truth". It is a business and they are all trying to achieve something and basically they just lie to assist them in their goals.....pretty standard.

Again, the fans are pissed.....do you REALLY think Fox, Hurney, and the Carolina lockerroom is pissed Pep hasn't signed his tag and most likely will return? Of course they aren't pissed.....they want him. Like I said, I think Pep and Carolina have a much better relationship than people think and when his 1 or 2 team wish don't turn out to be realistic options.......we will see that.

What kind of hit are you talking about in a year with no salary cap?

Bottom line is Peppers and his agent are morons. If he wanted to be traded he should have signed his tender and instructed the Panthers to make a deal for him. Instead he openly states he only wants to play for four teams which greatly reduces the market for him, including his salary market. Then he says he wants to play LB in a 3-4 D, something he had never done before. While many coaches are fascinated by the prospect of Peppers and his freaky athletic ability playing LB, they aren't convinced it can work. No one wants to give up top draft picks for an experiment, they aren't sure can work. Pile on his salary demands and you have cut his market down to nothing.

Teams like to work out big trades with other teams and the people they have a working relationship with. Only PEppers agent, who to call an amateur would be kind; can work out a trade deal because Peppers hasn't signed his tender. Peppers could kill any would be trade; by not signing a long term contract with the new team. No team will trade for him and give the Panthers what they want without a new contract. But Peppers still refuses to sign his tender; which only undercuts the chance of him being traded.

It may still happen, but its becoming less and less likely; because a new deal would need to be worked out for Peppers before the trade goes down. That will be hard to do, with a team on the clock.

LBF, if you spend 1/4 of the time posting on the Fvckenqueers forums as you do here, then there could only be maybe 3 hours left in your day, and you gotta sleep some time. Get a life. Do something constructive with yourself; like I dunno, put on a mask and hold an axe near someone's throat for a stupid picture or something...
