There HAS to be a trade coming with Peppers.

Yeah his value is lower next offseason, but we get him to play for an extra year. I mean, by that logic, DWill has huge trade value right now... so let's get a ton of picks for him before he gets hurt or gets too old.

Not to mention, whose to say Pep doesn't have a monster year and we get an even better offer next offseason. Just sayin...

DW 3 yrs younger. And his contract isn't up.

1k says Peppers does NOT have a better year if he isn't traded. :D

My only problem with trading Pep is just how better off will we be next year without him? Defensively especially. I know Pep half asses but he commands alot of respect from offenses. Without him we have no proven pass rush besides everyone's hopeful pick Charles Johnson. What ever picks we get for him, lets assume 1st and 3d perhaps. At least the first 2 picks have to be used on the defensive line. This adds alot of talent but lets not kid ourselves these are just draft choices. Who is to say these guys will make impact this year when we need them to the most. What if they bust?

The benefits I see of trading Pep are the extra selections and it gives us an option to pick one better OG's in this draft. Once traded the 17 million we will gain will most certainly have to go to some proven FA defensive line talent. The whole scenario would inject new life into the defensive line and could very well make the defensive better overall across the board by next year but there is no replacing the physical freak that is Peppers.

He will still be a year older this time next year (like Peppers and everyone else) He still has a chance of having a bad year or getting injured. His trade value very well could be much lower next year.

That was your reasoning on why Peppers HAS to be traded, right? Or am I missing something?

Carolina and Peppers has a better relationship than people think?

He lit Carolina up for 'mis-managing / utilizing players', said he doesn't won't to play in Carolina anymore, doesn't want to remain in Charlotte, and will not sign a long-term contract with Carolina! He is either serios about not signing long-term and leaving Charlotte or he is a big, gat, hypocritical LIAR...which I do not believe to be the case.

Carolina tied his hands by slapping the Franchise tag on him, and he returned the favor, hand-cuffing Carolina, in an effort to make sure Carolina didn't pawn him off on some team like Detroit, doing this by refusing to sign his Franchise paperwork, which prevents Carolina from talking to ANYONE about a trade.

There is 36+ hours for Peppers to come in, sign the paperwork, and offer Carolina a team / an offer his agent has worked out for Carolina to agree to (or not). If the draft begins and he still hasn't signed, Carolina still can't talk to any teams about a trade, which will probabl y mean JP stays in Carolina 1 more season.

If JP comes to Carolina AFTER the draft, signs the paperwork, then puts a deal for a trade onthe table, thus $crewing Carolina out of a 1st round pick + and still expects to be traded this year...well, if I was Carolina and was 'done' this way up until THAT point, I would me mad as h@ll and completely un-willing to concede anything that pr!ck wanted, if nothing but for spite! But let's say his loser agent can't find anyonewilling to trade, Carolina then has to worry about a guy getting paid more than $1 million A GAME, holding out, sand-bagging, and/or being a locker-room distraction (reports say he's still not talking to his teammates)!

Oh yeah, things are just great between Carolina and JP!

"With the 23rd overall pick in the NFL draft, New England has made a trade. New England receives Julius Peppers from the Carolina Panthers. Carolina receives the Patriots 23rd overall pick and the 89th overall pick in the 2009 draft. With the 23rd overall pick, Carolina selects..."

I bet Pat White could run your offense more effectively then Delhomme... I mean christ, hand it off 80% of the time and pull out prayers to Smith. Not that hard...

You sir, are officially a phucking moron. Jake may not be the best quarterback, but if there is one thing he has done well, it's run our offense. Most of the time, he does exactly what's asked of him.

For a short period of time I started to actually give you a chance and try to ignore your name when you posted. But anyone, regardless of their history on this board and regardless of their previously stated opinions on Jake, would lose all credibility in this forum for making a comment like that.

Hey, I'm not the only person thats been trashing Jake on this forum. Plenty of Panther fans have been praying for a change. Any guy with the ability to sling the ball could do Jake's job. He's settled in well with Fox though, so yea... he'll be locked until Fox gets fired.
