There HAS to be a trade coming with Peppers.

Is his value going to be that much greater NEXT year than this?

The Panthers AND Peppers could lose out next year if either he coasts for the season, hurts his value and the teams performance.

Secondly, lets say he plays thru, gets injured. Not good for either again.

I think he is going to get moved.

The safe and value route is trade for a 1st that will be high and possibly a 2nd depending on who it is.

You get your next DL for a few years in Rd 1, qb a little earlier and whatever after that.

Just too bad the asking price is way too steep on Peppers. He's talented for sure but no one will pay a premium on a 29 year old player. Had this situation been going on 3 years ago, Peppers value would be justified with the Panthers asking price.

The Panthers put themself in this bind and I hope they continue to suffer from it...

That, is not true. They tried to avoid all this poo at the beginning of the season. No this is all on Peppers. But as usual you want to blame everything on the The FO and you are wrong.....again.

I don't get it. Your reasons behind saying Peppers HAS to be traded is that he might get hurt or have a bad year next year? If anything, the cap space freed up by extending Delhomme makes keeping him even more of a viable option.

I'm not saying he definitely won't be traded. I think it has alot to do with what offers we get. If no good offers surface, I think we'd be happy to have him for '09 even if it means his value is a bit lower next offseason due to being a year older.

Yep. And he is just trying to antagonize.
