The Claiborne Watch

To me the Minnesota Vikings pose the biggest threat to take him at #3.

#3 Minnesota - Claiborne/Blackmon (reports they aren't impressed with Kalil) Their pass d was ranked one of the worst. Overpaid Carlson a TE. Need more weapons.

#4 Browns - Kalil They have Joe Hayden but have a need for a #2. Good draft for CBs though.

#5 Bucs - Trent Richardson I could also see them trading back to stock pile. Maybe Cincy wants to move up and grab Richardson. Bucs have Talib, Wright, Barber (hes been invited back)

#6 Rams - Blackmon if he's there...or Reiff. signed Finnegan to a huge contract

#7 Jaguars - Coples/Ingram Maroons when it comes to drafting. My fear is they are a possible trade up partner to snag a Claiborne

#8 Miami - I now see them taking A) Tannehill if available or B) Malcom Floyd

If Claiborne isnt as good as PP7 was then should he really be considered a top 5 pick? 6-8 seems to be the range if he's gonna go before us. I think Claiborne drops to us, 90% chance on my bullchittin around o' meter.

thats what i thought also. people like mike lombardi says hes not clearly as good as PP7 , but then why is everyone saying hes the best cb. peterson was horrible last year if not for his ST plays.

but clearly a huge need for us and seems like hes bpa

The only way I see Kalil falling past the Vikes, is if they were confident in Marcus McNeil's health and signed him. Everyone knows how much I wanted Kalil, but he is definitely not falling past Minnesota.

fans get too caught up in expecting rookies to have an amazing impact the 1st year and often forget they are rookies...

I won't be surprised to see Hogan start ahead of Claiborne even if we draft him..

    • I'm still not touching Hunter He again said the other day that he plans on playing both sides of the ball in the NFL.  If he is allowed to do that, he won't be as good on either side as his potential and he's going to have serious injury issues and have a short career.  If he's not allowed to do it, I think he's going to become a problem when the team isn't winning as he's going to feel him not being used on both sides of the ball is why. He's being coddled in that environment with Deion and I think it's doing a disservice to him to prepare him for life in the NFL where your coach isn't a 2nd father to you, to where you can just walk into his locker room and steal his shoes like Hunter does to Deion.
    • He’s a tad behind them. Around 15ish of 32 starters in the league. He’s well ahead of a lot of guys. Tua, Bryce, Cousins (present), Rodgers (current), Devito/Jones, Minshew, Russ (current), Watson, Smith, Carr, T Laws deep ball is weak as poo IMO, there’s plenty. And it’s not like everyone is ripping 60+ers. The key component is if you can rip and maintain velocity of the 30-40 yarders which he does super well. Legit every report out there from Brugler to PFF to PFN document him as good/above average arm strength.  Eye test tells me it’s pretty much that as well, slightly above average.
    • 6-10 carries for  35-45 yds and 3-5 catches for 15-25 would be great.
