Worst to first and what about us?

Look, the Bucs have gotten better. We knew it was going to happen b/c of how much cap space they had. They still have a ways to go if they want to compete b/c the team I saw last year wasnt good at all.

The Saints just lost a pro bowl guard. Who knows what will happen with Brees at this point. I would say that the Saints are still the favs right now as long as they keep Brees.

The Falcons - well, hard to say yet. I just dont see them being as good as the Panthers next season.

Us - We have a more experienced Cam next season. DWill and Stew running the ball. Our running game was legit last season and I expect it will stay that way. Gettis returns, giving us Smitty, Gettis and LaFell as the wides(as of now)..Olsen as the tight end. Offense will be legit once again. Its just the defense thats the key to our season. If Beason and Davis stay healthy, or just atleast Beason, our defense will be a lot better.

Bottom line - If we draft well and make some smart moves in free agency, we will be in the hunt to win the NFC South. I hate to beat the horse but Cam Newton is amazing and I can only imagine how good he will be if he just becomes a more consistent passer.

Are u for sure or is that just what u think will happen?

it's verrrrry likely, esp. considering the troubles he's had with the law in the past. his trial starts later in the month.

even with that, he's still very likely going to be suspended for a significant time. this lawsuit he's got now is only going to make matters worse for him, imo.

that said, people forget that ronde barber is coming back next year.

eric wright, ronde barber, and aqib talib (if he is able to play) means no caliborne for the bucs.

We will be significantly better this year if the only thing happens is that we get our guys back from IR. Add in a full year to actually install the offense and defense and sprinkle in guys from the draft and free agency (yes we actually will bring in a few guys) and we will be right there in the mix. Most of our starters were signed already and lots of guys who are going to be backups got starting experience last year.

Finally football is a team game, it is about scheme and guys working together. It doesn't take a team full of stars so much as the whole being better than the sum of it's individual parts. If we fix the defense this year we will be a very good team.

I don't necessarily agree with the OP to the extent he went, but the Bucs just got Freeman a badass weapon in Jax and a man that will help give him plenty of time to throw in Nicks. We don't have a DT on our roster that can compete with Nicks right now.

and its very unlikely that their is one in the draft whos going to make an impact against him.

The only thing that I agree with in this thread is that the NFC South is going to be even tougher to win next season.

Tampa is loading up their offense and are mismatching us like crazy. Their interior line is upper echelon now, and the middle of our defense is a question mark. Vincent Jackson is a big and fast receiver and right now I'd only trust Gamble to cover him, but that still doesn't look like a great matchup.

Saints locked up their best receiver and might not miss a beat if they snag Grubbs. I know the scandal and Brees' contract are distracting, but they are still loaded.

If the Falcons sign Mario Williams, this division will be insanely difficult to win in.

The Panthers are really crossing their fingers and toes that Otah, Davis, Ron Edwards and Beason come back ready to go. This worries me. I have seen this team depend on guys coming back from injury in order to succeed, and it's frustrating (Jenkins 2 years in a row, Dan Morgan his whole career, Jake Delhomme from Tommy John surgery).

Hopefully the whole plan isn't just a sit back and wait approach.
