Bucs sign CB Eric Wright (5 years, $37.5M): MILLEN ON LSD-LACED KIELBASA Grade

This is the worst signing in NFL history. That sentence is not an exaggeration.

Eric Wright is terrible. I gave him 1.5 stars in my 2012 NFL Free Agent Rankings for a reason. He's been torched numerous times per week over the past few seasons. Detroit and Cleveland fans know how bad Wright is, and the Buccaneers are about to find out.

Seriously, what the hell was Mark Dominik thinking? He couldn't have been sober when he made this transaction. I refuse to believe it. A plausible explanation is that Matt Millen snuck into his office, strangled him, shoved some LSD-laced kielbasa into the general manager's back side, and then slipped Wright's agent's number into his hand. When Dominik awoke, he was still delirious, so thought that paying $37.5 million to one of the worst cornerbacks on the market was a great idea.

Yes, that's exactly what happened. You heard it here first.

Wow.. Rams gets Finnegan (sp), and Bucs get Eric Wright.. Caliborne will fall right in our laps.. that would be a dream to land Claiborne.. someone who was highly thought as being the top defensive player in this draft just a couple weeks ago.

No one else has CB as their top priority with a draft pick ahead of us. The jags have a slight need at CB, but if they lose Mincey, they will def be drafting Coples to replace him.

Jaguars resigned Rashean Mathis to a new deal a couple weeks ago.

yeah the bucs seriously overpaid for Eric Wright. Bucs made 2 great moves in adding Jackson and Nicks, but this Wright signing just cracks me up.

I have a few Lions friends who have told me today that Wright gets burned easily and looks lost in coverage a lot.

I guess we should all be afraid of the Bucs though..lol

Joe Haden has a humongous contract with Cleveland and he is already one of the best DBs in the league. Cant see cleveland taken another top tier corner to pair with him with the first pick. Maybe somebody a lil cheaper because When there contracts are up thats gonna be lot of money tied up into the CB position it will kinda be like the Bengals last year. Claiborne would only be there about 4 years, so they might have to let one of them walk eventually and they need pass rushers too.

yeah, i can see them going OL, WR, DE, RB, or QB before they go CB.

There's something thats been bugging me with all the Richardson to the Bucs talk. I'm not too informed nor concerned about how the Bucs organization feel on their players, but Blount seemed like a good RB. What happened to that confidence in Legarrette?

they have confidence in blount?

dude is only on the field for one or two downs. he's worthless in the passing game because he can't catch and can't block. when he's on the field it's obvious that they are going to run.

also, reports came out that he was a major slacker. horrible work ethic and he's also seen as someone that brings others down with him. his attitude is contagious.

he's giving reasons why he went without being drafted and was cut from the titans.

That's a shame. He has a lot of talent, and can hurdle guys like it's nothing. I figured Tampa Bay had their RB for the next 3-4 years. Who knew it would end like this.
