NFL Free Agency Trades/Signings

Stewart has rejected all talks. He isn't looking to do what is best for Carolina....he is looking out for JStew. As a RB in the NFL, you can't blame him for that either. Next year is his chance to cash in.

JStew told the Panthers that he is not interested in extending his contract

Where have you guys heard this? I haven't seen or heard anything like this. Stew tweeted himself he wants to be here... Now I know you can't read a lot into what a player says themselves, but he didn't have to say that.

And truth be told, I love DWill, but I would've rather extended Stew if it came down to the two of them right now.

Look up, I answered where he heard it from...

NFL free agency officially opens Tuesday at 4 p.m., and you will be amazed by how many deals get completed by 4:01 p.m., considering teams haven’t even been allowed to negotiate. (Sarcasm.)

Yes, the Falcons will be active. Teams don’t try to create salary cap space unless they’re planning to do something, and the Falcons already have restructured Dunta Robinson’s contract. According to the latest figures, the Falcons’ 2012 payroll is at $116,002,840, which is only $5,723,709 under the cap. (This assumes cornerback Brent Grimes signs a $10.6 million one-year tender.)

Let’s make this as clear as possible: There is not nearly enough money for the Falcons to sign Williams, Houston’s defensive end, unless they gut the roster and sign several replacements for the minimum straight out of Fred Sanford’s front yard.

Sorry to kill the sports talk radio buzz (and hopefully unclog the inbox of my email). But Williams is expected to use Julius Peppers’ six-year, $84 million contract as a starting point. That’s a $14 million annual average and cap hit. Do the math. I just don’t see any way general manager Thomas Dimitroff would be willing to do that, especially given the other holes the team needs to fill.

I don't even think there will be mid level free agents for the Panthers left by the weekend the way things are going.

You new to FA, this is the way it always is. After about 48 hours it will slow down A LOT.

I think this is a pretty deep free agency pool actually. Should be some nice players for us to choose from for cheap like Garay (was terrific in '10 with Rivera). This is a pretty bad DB pool though outside of Carr/Finnegan. Landry is great but very injury prone (low risk, high reward) and Atogwe sucks.

Im starting to understand where Cats Growl is coming from, when you see all these other teams drastically upgrading there roster soon as the off season starts and your team sitting around doing nothing it does kind of fug with u after a while. Especially teams in your conference. but i guess its just a phase.

A lot of those free wheeling teams wind up home for the playoffs.
