So would you have rather let Charles Johnson go to the Falcons and Deangelo Williams go to the Dolphins (as widely speculated) and instead we go sign Justin Babin or Ray Edwards at DE and Ahmad Bradshaw or Ronnie Brown at RB? Those were arguably the best options other than the guys we retained.

Quit speculating like we screwed up resigning our own guys. Until any of our guys start sucking, it is impossible for you to say we made a bad decision (minus Olindo Mare, because he already sucks). With the exception of Beason and Davis, all our big free agents are productive, healthy, and thus far have not had "off the field issues" which is more than a lot of teams can say with their top guys.

I am not going to argue that we didn't overpay our guys and the contract values could have been managed a little better. However, I will argue that we made a big splash in free agency last year regardless of signing our own guys or free agents from another team... which is what this thread is about.
