Patriots looking to move up?

Recommended Posts

According to the Draft Value Chart, #9 is worth 1350, 27 + 31 = 1280, so we could also potentially get a late round pick out of it.

The old chart's been burnt up and thrown away with the new CBA rules for rookies. You'd be able to swing a 3rd or 4th into that trade as well.

Depends on if the Panthers can afford to sign 2 first rounders. And if the players they are targeting will still be available.

Two late first rounders won't be much to sign. I don't know the exact numbers of the Rookie Wage Scale, but it's nowhere near as much as it used to be.

That's a really crap spot to be in. At 9 you've got some good talent not to mention the possibility one of the top 8 talents falls to you.

I definitely would not do it until draft day when it was our turn to pick, and I probably wouldn't even do it then.

I guess it depends on who is on the board still. If Claiborne is there, then I say hell no. I'd have to really think about it if Coples were still there at #9.. if they are both gone, I may just take that trade.

With 3 Top 40 picks, we could still get, Mark Barron, Zach Brown, and Vinny Curry.

Really depends on who's available when we pick. The Patriots have their eyes on a specific player, so unless he's there, they probably wouldn't trade up. If Claiborne and Coples are gone I might pull the trigger based on current DT values. Until there's a clear cut #1 DT, I think it's a crap shoot with major odds against us. That being said, we could add a DT, OLB and CB with top 40 picks.

You realize signing rookies comes out of some exception money in the cap right ? No you people wouldnt know that.
