Will Leave The Hurneywagon If We Don't Make An Effort To Improve The Team This FA.

It's not like the Panthers aren't consistently sitting around 97% of the cap number or anything.

You have to keep in mind that we can rarely AFFORD top tier/mid range FA because Marty Hurney is such a genius with the CAP......

No question about what is spent.

But 2-14 followed by 6-10 you have to wonder what you're spending your money on and why.

Only player I can think of we signed through FA, no trades that came in had a significant impact on defense was Lucas and Buckner. Its been several moves on offense though

For most its probably more about moves the Panthers dont make. Looking at the moves the Aints made during their Super Bowl run (Brees, Harper, etc) and even a Darren Sproles pickup last year tends to piss Panther fans off. :D

There were lots of reasons for the 2-14 record, that wasn't indicative of the talent on this team. Last year we were decimated with injuries and hurt by the lockout so I don't know if the 6-10 record is really indicative either. Lets see what happens this year. If we suck again, that could be problematic. Buut if we make the playoffs or come close, it just suggests that the overall strategy is bringing results. Or supports the old adage that a franchise quarterback is the most important component to building a playoff contender.

FAIL if we don't make playoff next year IMO

I'm also sick of everybody sayin we were decimated by injuries. So does alot of teams and thats were you see good GM's puttin in work with the depth you have on your team. The depth we have on this team right now is horrific.

There's a difference in other teams being injured, and having a team record for players on IR in one season.

We were plagued by injuries, most definitely. And we did have a shortened off-season.

This year our sights should most definitely been set on the playoffs, though, I agree.

To be fair, a good number of the players on IR came at the end of the season, and were just stashed there so we could get a look at some other people.

Beason, Davis, Edwards and Schwartz not being available impacted us. The rest of the list, not so much.

And yes, I do feel this organization has found injuries to be an effective excuse for underperformining, and that bothers me.
