As of Noon ET Tuesday, Jordan Senn's agent, Arthur B. Weiss, said the Panthers had yet to offer the LB a deal. “They're not offering (deals to) anybody,” Weiss said. “They need to restructure Thomas Davis' deal (five years, $36.5 million). That's screwing them up and I don't think he'll play a down this season.”

yeah, in claiming to know what's hamstringing the panthers, senn's agent is really saying the opposite: he doesn't have a clue what's going on in carolina's front office. the davis deal was done last year with full knowledge of his injury. to think that they wouldn't know how to restructure it when that was a feature of the contract all along is pretty short-sighted.

so Senn's agent is complaining about the contract of Senn's teammate and has opinion that said teammate will not play a down.

okay

If that is the case then the contract is not screwing them up Mr. agent-guy. They will cut him if that is the case and take the cap advantages associated with that route. If there is any real possibility of him not playing a down, it will not be hard to work out the contract that is "screwing them up".

SMH

Nobody ever said agents were smart I guess but those remarks prove that in the representation world, greed trumps common sense.

    • I'm not opposed to keeping him depending on the money. If he's going to count against the cap anyway (which the void year does) it's not the worst move unless an extension significantly raises his cap number. Even if it's just a 1-year deal that pays him a little more than what he's already on the books for. When he's been on the field he's been really good, but the issue is obviously injuries. I will say, having Corbett back as the starter would also give us good depth since Cade Mays can move into the backup role. That could be key if (more likely when) Brady Christensen leaves. Hard to say right now without seeing the potential terms of any new deal.
    • It sounds like QB Tyler Slough is flying up the draft boards, he’s a bit older, but so was Nix, Penix etc. He might, just might, be someone teams want to trade up to get around where we pick 🤞
    • He's only stating the obvious. I always chuckle when someone says we can trade back like it is so easy.
