Lol at walterfootballs reasoning behind it.

Saints re-sign WR Marques Colston (5 years): A Grade

I'm making this grade without seeing the contract details because the amount of money the Saints plan on paying Marques Colston ultimately doesn't matter. No price is high enough to appease Drew Brees, and that's exactly what New Orleans is doing here. Considering Bountygate and the fact that he was franchised against his will, Brees must have been mulling leaving New Orleans next offseason. This is a step toward making him happy - which is really important because New Orleans would be almost as bad as the 2011 Colts without their All-Pro quarterback.

It's just hilarious how Colston was going to be this big loss when he looked to be leaving, and even though he was listed as the #2 or #3 WR free agent by Nfl.com, cbssports.com, profootballfocus.com ,yahoo sports.com... Now that he was resigned by Saints, he is terrible receiver easily replaced by mid round pick and wasn't going to be big on free agency. I mean it's obvious you hate everything Saints and will try to put a negative spin on any story, but don't go so far as to completely throw common sense out the window. I can't wait to hear what y'all come up with if Nicks sign the contract he was offered!? It was a "respectable" contract and said yesterday he would take a contract "that is in the ballpark" so it is very possible Nicks stay with Saints.

And just yesterday, you guys were saying that Colston wouldn't be that big of a loss, because he has knee issues and that Brees makes average guys look like all pros, that Moss would be a cheaper replacement with more upside, etc.

I never once said that, click on my name and use the "find all posts" option! Colston rarely missed any games and last year came back after breaking his collarbone in first week after missing only 2 games and had one of his best seasons.

Good. Much rather them throw money at a receiver than giving it to the guys who actually make brees look good. Colston is a product of brees who is great when he has time to throw. Brees without that line makes colston a possession receiver. 40 million for a possession receiver......yeah, I'd rather have nicks too saints fans
