maybe it's because MrPF and I have been with each other since I was 23 and he was 21...it's just the way we have always done things..12 years later it still works for us..maybe we are weird..who knows..but we never fight about money and we're damn good at communicating about everything else too

what's really important in any relationship is finding out what works and sticking with it...I'm glad we found ours

Although I knew my wife for many years, we became a couple at my stepsons wedding in Charleston and got married there - Cypress Gardens in Moncks Corner to be precise.

I love taking her to Charleston. Stay at the Vendue (not the annex, the actual Vendue Inn) or another really cool place like that. Get a bicycle taxi. Go to one of the great restauraunts out there. Take the ferry to Fort Sumter. Go to the beach, or Middleton Gardens.

Thats the way we do it to. Three accounts, one for her, one for me, one joint to pay the bills. She has access to mine and I have access to hers. Never have understood what the big deal is about having a joint account. The important thing is not to hide stuff from each other, unless its for a gift for the other or something of that nature.

My first wife and I had a joint account. It was a friggin nightmare trying to keep track of everything. Especially when my buying lunch while at work cut into her beer and smokes money.

Regarding getting married, I don't really regret either of my marriages. I learned a lot from the first marriage (like who not to marry :)), and I used those lessons learned to make a much better choice the second time around.

We've had a joint account since before we were married. No problems. I had Credit Card debt from the wedding and random poo that come up but it's gone now and she has none. She knows I have a separate "man's account" and she doesn't bother me about it.

She doesn't want to know that I lost/won $3,200 in coinflip. She doesn't want to know how expensive golf is or how much I tip the cart girl. It's basically my allowance to be a man with my friends. It's basically a savings account now :(
