First of all, this is not rewarding Delhomme for one bad playoff game - anyone who thinks that is a moron.

The guy is a proven winner in this league and this is a cap move... 42.5 for 5 years with 20 guaranteed takes his cap hit down from 11 to roughly 5 if I understand how these things work.

This means we just found an extra 6 million in cap space today... I don't think we would make this kind of move unless we were planning on either a) signing a first round pick or pursuing some sort of FA signing or trade.
