Tony Gonzalez To Atlanta

Recommended Posts

It helps our offense out a lot. We really struggled to work the middle of the field last year and get LB's out of the box. As far as our D goes we still need a lot of help there. Hopefully our first 5 picks are all defense.

Very good football player, but nearing the end of a HOF career.

Good move for a young offense, which they are.

I am sure that they are thinking that they gave up 2010 pick no. 55-60 or so. Not terrible for that kind of mentor and locker room guy.

Yeah, Gonzalez really tore us up in the Chiefs game last year... not.

I for one am glad to see Atlanta burning draft picks on older players... at best this guy is 33 and they just gave up allot of potential draft value for a guy who is on his last legs. Let's hope they continue to follow this model - they must be taking advice from the Skins. LOL

What makes this a very good deal for Atlanta is the fact that they will receive compensatory draft picks next year, due to losing Brooking, Milloy, and Foxworth to Free Agency. Pretty smart move on the part of Dimitroff.

Keep in mind.

None of those will be higher than a 4th I would guess.

None of those picks are tradeable.

A decent move tho.

Gonzo will help Ryan out quite a bit.

depending on how they perform, how their contracts play out (incentives and what not), and how far they get into the playoffs.

milloy will be lucky to back up somewhere and brooking is rubbish. their best bet for comps is foxworth going nuts and the ravens getting deep into the playoffs.
