Tannehill a top 10 pick?

Hopefully someone will trade up for him. But to throw a wrench into things that have about a .5% chance of happening IMO:

Claiborne drops to us, BUT a team wants to trade up with us to grab Tannehill at 9. Either the Chiefs or Seahawks since they've been discussed. We move back a couple spots and add their 2nd rounder or some ish. Do we take the trade, or take Claiborne?

Take Claiborne unless we're absolutely sure the teams between #9 and our new pick don't want a CB...and then pray no one trades up for him.

I hope so. That would be one more player off the board that we'd have no interest in. I'm hoping half of the picks before us are QBs or RBs - namely Luck, RG3, Richardson, and Tannehill. If all 4 of those guys are gone, there's going to have to be someone really good there for us at #9.

Take Claiborne. Great CB prospect, plus we all know Hurney's affinity for drafting future french fry technicians in the 2cd round.

If we get 1 & 2, we trade. Claiborne is probably best cb IN THIS DRAFT, but not so much better than Kirkpatrick, Jenkins (even Gilmore or Robinson), that we should pass on CB & another starter at DT, LB, or OL.

Let me get this right, he played two years at WR and has limited experience at Qb. Plays in the BIG 12 also known as "The Land of Inflated Passing Stats." Kid is raw as a

cucumber. Speaking of inflation. Yo Gabba Gabbert found his stock inflated and his ability to come right in grossly overrated last year and predictably struggled. If someone spends a top 10 on Ryan they will be disappointed as well. Honest injun if Russell Wilson was the same height as Ryan he WOULD be a top 5 pick. Ryan passes the eye test as long as you are not watching his mechanics and where he actually likes to place the ball. Russell on the other hand is extremely accurate and mobile. Give me Wilson in the third anyday over yet another agent made stock increase.

I cannot beleive it either. They say he is 2 years away and has franchise QB written all over him.

Here is what I cannot believe: They watch QBs on film, they interview them, they measure their speed, strength, accuracy, and quickness--they bring them in for private workouts and test them on the white board. Stll, half of the QBs taken in the first round bust. Ths is why--they are so desperate, they reach.

I think he is not a first round pick, but everyone is singing his praises--say in 2 years he is a franchise QB. I still do not see top 10. Most of those teams have immediate needs.

:out:

Are you freaking serious? Do you know how many teams would love to exchange 2 years for a franchise QB? This is a QB driven league, if you have a good one, you have a chance. If you don't, forget it. Good job being ridiculously short-sighted bro.

I bet everyone who does not agree with you is short-sighted. How Ironic. When you reach for a QB who will take 2 years to develop, Bro, and then it takes a year or two to realize he is a bust, how many years have you wasted? 3-4 is the correct answer.

Why pay a guy $7-8 million a year to sit and develop for 2 years just to see if he doesn't suck? Tannehill has second round talent at best. If he was that good, why play him at WR for 2 years--who was ahead of him in college?

Here is a clue--most teams in the top 10 sucked last year. They do not want to suck for 2 more years waiting for some reach of a pick to develop into what they hope is a franchise QB. You act as if it is a given that he wlll be a framchise QB--(See blaine Gabbert, Ryan Leaf, Tim Couch, Brady Quinn, Jake Locker, Chris Ponder, Jamarcus Russell, Vince Young, Matt Leinhart, etc.)

You changed your premise. You said if he becomes a franchise QB in 2 years he still wouldn't be worth a top 10, so don't give me that 'for him just to be a bust bs'. Yeah, if he busts of course he's not worth a top 10, but that's not what you argued for -.-

    • I mean that’s not an argument I go with… But in ACC play, both Clemson and SMU covered the spread more than Miami.  Miami didn’t cover in 3 games.
