New Jersey Interested in Boris Diaw

Recommended Posts

Not going to lie, for once the Bobcats may know what they are doing.

Farmar is having a career best season this year in New Jersey and could be a suitable back up for Kemba. He also has the option to opt out of his 4 million dollar contract at the end of the season, so if the trade goes down and Farmar opts out, the Cats are essentially only losing 3 million dollars in cap space with the trading of Diaw. The big key is we would be adding another first rounder which right now is slotted as the 17th pick in the draft. Oddly enough Perry Jones is projected to go around that area.

Imagine this future line-up

C- Bismack Biyombo

PF- Anthony Davis

SF- Perry Jones

SG- Gerald Henderson

PG- Kemba Walker

That would be amazing, wouldn't be opposed to a deal with NJN if it involves a first rounder.

Our depth chart could look something like this:

PG Walker | Farmar

SG Henderson | Williams | Carroll

SF PJIII | Maggette

PF Davis | Thomas

C Biyombo | Mullens | Petro

But knowing our luck, either of these scenarios would happen: We miss out on the top pick, Houston doesn't make the playoffs, and/or PJIII doesn't fall.

Right now they are the 8th seed, a 1/2 game in the playoffs but only a game out of 6th, and 2 games out of 5th. It could go either way, they could barely make the playoffs and we wind up winning the deal with around the 17th pick in a perceived deep draft or it could go the other way and we wind up with a 2nd rounder in a few years. I just wonder if that is a risk that Cho can take?

I would do it for Houston's pick. With Rubio out, the only team I could see challenging the Rockets for that playoff spot is Portland. Even if some guys go back to school, we could use a pick in the late teens in another deal to move up (like the Stephen Jackson trade last year).

Portland is a dumpster fire, no way they catch them.
