New Jersey Interested in Boris Diaw

Recommended Posts

Looking @ hoopshype, NJ doesn't have any bad contracts. Their cap situation is almost perfect to be able to pick up anyone that will come there.

The Nets would need to either have another team step in, trade Okur or Humphries or trade two mid level salary players to make a trade work for Boris. They aren't going to trade Okur (expiring contract) or Humphries (NTC), so really the only options are another team or multiple players making at least 8 million combined, I believe.

we don't need expiring contracts .....no marquee free agent wants to play for the cats

No but we don't want bad contracts either, that's what got us into this mess. Expirings might not help us with big time FAs but we can go after solid/mid tier players. We are going to have to acquire some talent because there isn't much now.

The fact that we as fans of this team have endured Diaw's nonchalance for so long, the last thing I want personally is to ship him off for dead weight or another bad contract with additional years remaining.

I just want him gone with nothing in return except cap space. There may be legit offers out there, but just say no CHO!

Latest regarding Doris Miaaooow

• It’s less than three full days until the Thursday 3 p.m. trade deadline and here’s what I’m hearing concerning the Bobcats:

The New Jersey Nets would like Boris Diaw’s expiring $9 million contract number, and they’d give up the future first-round pick the Houston Rockets owe them to accomplish that. The Bobcats would have to take players with financial obligations beyond this season.

I hear Jordan Farmar and Johan Petro would come to Charlotte. Would the Bobcats do that and lower their salary-cap flexibility? Hard to say.

If Cho can wrangle a first round pick for Diaw I will name my first child after him! :D

That's what Diaw's worth. lol He's an expiring contract worth 9 million, so the Nets are saving 18 million over two seasons by taking his contract. The players Charlotte is receiving are only to make the money work, they aren't worth anything.

Not going to lie, for once the Bobcats may know what they are doing.

Farmar is having a career best season this year in New Jersey and could be a suitable back up for Kemba. He also has the option to opt out of his 4 million dollar contract at the end of the season, so if the trade goes down and Farmar opts out, the Cats are essentially only losing 3 million dollars in cap space with the trading of Diaw. The big key is we would be adding another first rounder which right now is slotted as the 17th pick in the draft. Oddly enough Perry Jones is projected to go around that area.

Imagine this future line-up

C- Bismack Biyombo

PF- Anthony Davis

SF- Perry Jones

SG- Gerald Henderson

PG- Kemba Walker
