Ah, nice.

I work in Wesley Heights (sorta, I'm over on Morehead across from Savor.

My place is opposite side of downtown just outside of 277 on 10th street. It's a solid half hour walk or more to the stadium, but its only about a 15 minute walk to the bobcats arena.

that can be a rough area. hopefully nobody researches it too hard

Rented my place today.

$2500 in exchange for spending a few nights at my parents place isn't a bad trade off in my opinion.

Volume is really picking up right now, so if anyone is interested in renting, now is the time to get your rooms/homes listed.

And being a good son, you are of course sharing some of your bounty with your parents, right? :)

Nothing on 10th is really bad. There is just my complex, a school, and a couple houses. It then runs into Central which is pretty nice until you get down to about Briar Creek. If you go a few blocks down Seigle it can get a little rough, but every week it seems like I see new demolition or renovation work on some of the homes there, so it appears there is a lot of investment occurring in the neighborhoods. There are builders that specialize in building bungalow style homes in the area for $99-130,000. A lot of young people seem to be taking advantage of being able to live in the city for such a low price.

My co-workers boyfriend just bought a place a few blocks from me for 40,000. Put 20,000 into repairing it and rented it almost immediately for $1200 a month.

I took a long term view when I bought the place. Everything in the inner city isn't nice right now, but there are a limited number of parcels in the inner city neighborhoods and I live in an area where I can walk both uptown and to Plaza-Midwood. Not many people in the city live walking distance to two of the major night-life and dining neighborhoods in the city.

After looking at how much some are going for I'm seriously considering it now. I just assumed it wouldnt be worth it if you were outside the 277 loop. I was wrong.

Dont know how much to ask for, though.

I have a 2BR 1.5 condo on 3rd & Queens (less than 1.5mi from Bobcats Arena). From looking online it looks like maybe $600-$1000/night?

I know, but if you ask 100 people in Charlotte where the dangerous areas are, 99 of them will say don't walk past 10th Street.

If you ask 100 people in Charlotte 80 of them probably won't know where 10th street is.

A lot of people in the Charlotte area just assume everything in the city is run down and dangerous.

I priced mine under what most people were because there was less competition at a lower price point.

There were a ton of places listed for $1,000 a night, but relatively few in the $500-$750 price range.

I originally had mine listed for $1,000 and received no inquiries. I dropped it to $500 and got some immediately.

I'd rather guarantee myself $2,500 than hold out and hope for $4,000 only to get nothing.

How did you list it? Through dncdigs or dncrentals?
