Trade up to #4?

I'm not opposed to Jenkins at all at #22..I'm a big fan of Jenkins, But he's not a better prospect than Claiborne. We need to get a stud playmaker on Defense, because other than CJ and Beason nobody else makes plays..

Unless someone unexpected falls too us, #9 sucks and we are gonna get stuck with the stiff Reily Reiff or gambling on a DT.

Why are we willing to trade back to receive second and third rounders we are notoriously known for missing big on? Why don't we trade up in the first and get the stud we want in Claiborne? We will have a potentially lockdown corner locked up for cheap for years to come. Look at the receivers in our division, they are better than the RB's at this point. We need a CB more than a DT.

When your defensive line can't get pressure it doesn't matter how good your CBs are. Even the best can't cover for 5 seconds.

Couple that with our inability to stop the run because our DTs are slightly more competent than blocking sleds and your looking at a secondary and defense in general that is very susceptible to home run plays off play action.

Look at the QBs in our division. Which one of those teams ISN'T capable of eviscerating our corners with the play fake? Okay, now look at our roster. How many DTs on our roster would start elsewhere? Corners? The bottom line is that we have several holes to fill but to state that corner (which could definitely use improvement) is a bigger need than DT is asinine.

We have more needs than just another CB though. What about Jenkins at #22 or Gillmore?

Claiborne is not a guarantee either. Patrick Peterson was pretty abysmal when it came to coverage last year....just saying

Yea I was surprised that Peterson and Prince were not better last year.At least Peterson had alot of value as a returner.People were throwing at Price all year long and he was the 2nd corner off the board.

People act like cornerback skills translate immediately at the NFL level. It's still a learning curve. Most teams college CBs play have derps at QB, or butt-slow receivers, which makes it easier to be a "shutdown" corner. At this level you have to have a much better understanding of leverage, lane responsibilities, down and distance, schematic tendencies, and have to deal with people who can actually play. It takes time.

All Cleveland would need to do is swap with St Louis and get one of their two second rounders. St Louis would jump at the opportunity to get Blackmon.

Cleveland would then have two firsts and two seconds and still get Tannehill.

If they trade back too far, they risk Seattle coming up to 8th for instance and cutting them out anyway. Seattle would have to give up too much to move to 5th because TB would want a ransom to give up Claiborne

I would be happy at the possibility of trading down and grabbing Kirkpatrick if Claiborne does not fall to us. Or just taking Kirkpatrick at 9 because CB talent is very high this draft and getting a top 5 CB is not nearly as hard.

We would probably have to give up 9 and #40. Without a 3rd rounder we would not be able to address any other issue. Our depth is going to take a hit during the FA market starting tomorrow. I think by trading up we lose an opportunity to get a two solid contributors. Blackmon might be there at #9 but Kilpatrick, Poe or Brockers could be had. I could see us trading down for an extra pick or two but up... Don't think so.
