Kalil, Johnson, and Williams? Two played at a pro-bowl level last year, and I'm fine with Williams if having another option on offense helped in any way with the development of Newton.

Three I don't like are Godfrey, Davis, Williams. Davis was a high risk never should've seen near that money. Williams performs in a two back system they set a huge number for Stewart who put up comparable numbers last year. Also when williams was out in 2010 goodson and Stewart did just as good, should've let Williams walk. Godfrey just isn't worth the money. Kalil and Johnson are exceptional talents and needed big money to secure.

Well I hear Davis has an option coming up that basically terminates the contract, so he'll have to restructure or walk. People have every right to say the Williams and Godfrey contracts were bad, but I don't think they are devastating and at least Williams is a good player. Not living up to his contract, but a good player. Godfrey maybe not so much, but he could still do something.

We need to do something major with our defense this year...possibly switch to a 3-4 we have about 8 dt (random number) on the roster certainly one could step up resign applewhite and Connor we have the numbers at linebacker. Then do something with our secondary we dont have a number one in the bunch. Gamble is good but hes no shut down. The safeties need major work too. Special teams we need new kicker and punter. Baker punted directly to Devin fing Hester this year enough said. And Mare...why did we release reliable Kasay for someone as old, that cant get a kick off.

I say get rid of Williams he had a decent year showed he can still play after the injury....Stewart and Goodson one two punch. Frees some cap.

Yeah, there is definitely a ton of teams lining up to trade for an $8M/season contract for a RB.:confused:

Just like people all screaming to trade down.....you have to find a trade partner willing to do it.

There is ZERO chance that ANYONE would trade for DWill with that contract.

Of those contracts mentioned Godfrey needs to be restructured. He is due a 5 million dollar option bonus. If you convert that to a signing bonus it would add 1 million to his cap hit for each remaining year but save the 5 million this year for a net savings of 4 million this year. If we keep it the way it is he earns 700,000 this year a possible workout bonus of 100,000 and a 5 million option bonus for a total of 5.8 million this year. If we convert the 5 million to a signing bonus he counts 1.8 million this year total and his prorated signing bonus cap hit going forward increases from 1.2 million to 2.2 million. So next year he will cost us 3.6 cap hit instead of 2.6 if we did nothing and ate the 5 million option this year.
