Salary Cap set

I have suggested this numerous times, keep your head low.

But it is true, we over committed to D Will, with his contract being what it is.

I assume you haven't seen the cap hit we would take if we release DWill. It's something like 15m+. So, no, that won't work.

Next season we won't have to worry so much about re-signing Jonathon Stewart, as we can just Franchise tag him.

This years RB franchise is a little under 8 million

For having such a young team, we have the core group taking up way to much money. Next year most likely will be the same thing.

Why are we not restructuring Davis, Williams, and Godfrey's huge contracts. Get them down and go after some needs and quit relying on the draft so much.

DeAngelo and Godfrey aren't very realistic restructures because they just signed last year. More likely candidates are Smitty, Gross, Wharton and Gamble, with Davis being resigned to an incentive deal to avoid his huge option bonus he is due that was put in for injury protection....

I'm not saying release him, there are plenty of teams looking for a good running back shop him around. I never thought he should have gotten a big deal. We are plenty deep at rb.

He wouldn't have been re-signed to that big deal last year in order trade him this year. The DeAngelo decision/situation is in stone for at least this year and maybe next year as well.

no one's going to trade for a 28 year old RB with a gigantic contract

Wishful thinking...with the needs we have and the money we have could lead us to another rough season. Newton has a huge target now the line needs work. Number two receiver is wishy washy...not to the mention the defense. Letting Connor go test the market is rough not knowing how Beason will be. And our secondary is laughable. They screwed up huge with the 3 huge contracts last year.
