Before any cuts, tenders or restructures it's reported the Panthers are around 9 million over the salary cap. That's the number from ESPN anyways.

That's before the 2.8m credit from this past season.

So, we're at about ~6m over.

Yeah, I assume the news will start coming out tomorrow afternoon and tomorrow night. Joe Person said that news would be coming soon, and that it will start with the restructuring of Thomas Davis' contract.

Hurney is probably too crushed by the UNC loss to make any moves.

If we restructure Gross, Smith, Stewart, and Davis, we might have enough money to sign Carl Nicks, Mario Williams, Vincent Jackson, Peyton Manning, and Cortland Finnegan!

      They don't. Add in a player like LaMelo Ball, who selectively plays when he feels like it, and you cannot compete. If your highly paid players refuse to play full time, what can you do?

      Wow, what hard hitting journalism DJ.  What's next?  The sky is blue?  Water is non-compressible?  =P I'm totally down for trading down and acquiring more picks.  We have spent a TON of picks on failed QBs (Darnold and Baker) and paid a king's ransom for Bryce.  We need more talent, more picks, more shots at the dartboard of NFL talent!
