Manning choosing between...

Mr. Scot

Seattle reportedly has been calling him to set up and interview, but they're not being able to.

It's seeming like he may sign with Denver, but who knows? I do think that he will sign before free agency begins Tuesday, though.

I don't think it's about money at this point. I think it's about the best path to the playoffs.

The best path to playoffs would either be Arizona or Denver, because both the AFC and NFC West are not very good divisions, and Denver went to the playoffs last year with a below average QB.

Miami's division includes two games against the Patriots and Tom Brady and two games against the Jets. While the division isn't fantastic, it would be more of headache than both of the West divisions.

Valid point.

And Schefter's initial speculation about wanting a warm weather climate does make sense (especially for a dome guy) but if he really is leaning toward Denver, weather can't be a consideration.

And yeah, pretty sure Manning doesn't have to worry where his next meal is coming from. That said, big egos tend to want big paydays.

Denver need a lot more pieces though than say a Miami or Arizona, heck even a Seattle. Plus you factor in the cold weather, if I'm Manning I won't be going there. But since I'm not who knows.

I just think to label the only 2 places he's been to as favorites is premature.

I have to agree with this. He can make near infinite money with commercials at this point if he wanted to, not to mention a possible future in coaching, as an analyst, public speaker, etc. I have to think he'll take the team best equipped to win unless the money's not in the same ballpark as somewhere else.

If Denver adds Wayne, I think that's actually a good receiving core. If they can add Clark and Addai on the cheap, it will be an amazing offense. You just have to hope the defense holds up, as they seem to be a little more middle of the pack with the secondary being so old (Dawkins, Bailey, Goodman, etc.)

Well it is ESPN

Ariz and Miami make the most sense to me here. Would've been scary to see him on the Texans though.

Peyton Manning to Larry Fitzgerald...

Peyton Manning to Brandon Marshall...

Peyton manning to Andre Johnson...

if I'm a defensive coordinator, any one of those scenarios makes me wanna throw up.

Denver makes no sense for Manning. For one, he clashes with Fox' philosophy. And two, he's played poorly in bad weather conditions for his entire career.

He kinda works for Fox's philosophy because Fox could just leave the offense in his hands and not worry about it. If that kind of autonomy is desirable for Peyton, then it could work for him too.

All that said, I don't think the Broncos are his best option either.
