well see heres the thing. every now and then a little bit of stupid gets in the FO's draft board and we take someone just because mock draft experts suggest it is a great value pick, rather than personally evaluate them. this is how we got jimmy clausen, dwayne jarret, eric shelton and keary colbert.

i still have no idea how they got the idea for armanti...

HOWEVER! I think lately the panthers have been maintaining and continuing to draft players who are also very good citizens. We don't care much for players with criminal records and such.

I think Keary Colbert was the problem in his case. Not the front office.

Jarrett goes the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the CFL

Just joined your forum to post this article from my team here in Canada.

your cast-offs are our latest big hope.... News release from my local team.

Riders sign 3 incl. WR Dwayne Jarrett, release Lloyd, Stewart, Solomon

The Saskatchewan Roughriders announced today that they have signed import receiver Dwayne Jarrett, import defensive back Jalil Johnson and non-import defensive back Dominic Noel to contracts. Financial details were not released.

Jarrett (6’4 – 219) was a second round pick (45th overall) by the Carolina Panthers in the 2007 NFL Draft. The New Jersey native remained with the Panthers through the 2009 season, and also appeared in the first three games of the 2010 campaign during his time in Carolina. Over the course of his time in the NFL, the 25-year old appeared in 32 games while making three starts and recorded 35 receptions for 428 yards and one touchdown.

One of the most decorated receivers in USC history, Jarrett was a three year starter and two-time consensus All-American for the Trojans. During his time in Southern California, Jarrett played in 38 games and finished his collegiate career with receiving totals of 216 receptions for 3,128 yards and 41 touchdowns. While forgoing his senior collegiate season to enter the NFL Draft in 2007, Jarrett still remains the Pac-12’s all-time record holder with 41 receiving touchdowns.

    • Wilks is a nobody in the grand scheme of things.  He is right back out of the NFL, exactly where he was before Carolina dragged him back to the NFL.  I don't see what he has to be pissed or salty about. He got a shot with 2 teams and was just a average coach as he has always been.  He is a lesser Fox/Rivera
    • The way BY must play quarterback has a much higher degree of difficulty.  Coupled with his physical limitations his margin for error is small.    The guy evading the blitz and dropping a dime deep over double coverage is more exciting then a wobbling ball thrown into the blitz with good enough placement that gets 6 yards on a 3rd and 5.  It's been beat to death that he will never be the first guy.  He was the second guy vs the Chiefs.    The second guy is harder to do because it's mostly mental:  reading, reacting and processing the correct solution that the defense provided within a second or two.    It's harder to see on film, it's harder to evaluate.  That's why I think there's a divergence between fans yelling "noodle armed middle schooler!!" and analysts going "hold up, let's not write him off yet"    I personally need to see the Chiefs game be the start of growth before getting hopeful.  Ideally would like to see 1-2 300yd multi td games.  Then I'd expect the entire off season to fix his footwork.  With his physical limitations that footwork needs to be damn near perfect.  I would still bring in competition at the QB spot even in that scenario.
