Everyone is so convinced and married to the idea of a DT in the first is a given, that I think the reactions wil be close to melt down levels.

Unless Rivera is pulling a MAJOR smokescreen, I do buy into his continuous comments that he likes our young DT's and that they do not see DT as a major area of need.

But then again, I am wrong more than half the time.

Brockers is a mystery, to a degree, and any team would be foolish not to consider his upside and talk to him.

Why take a DT in the first round--even if it were a huge need--when the dropoff in talent is minimal well into the second round?

I agree--DT is not as big a need as people think. They want to blame the DTs for the run defense when Hardy was not disciplined in run support and the LBs behind them were second teamers.

I am one who thinks DE is a bigger need. I also think we will address the OL. Expect us to pick up a WR and LB depth. With Shirley, Edwards, McClain, Fua, Neblett, and Kearse, we are very young at DT and RR is probably going to let the youth mature. We may not take one.
